It is a lot easier to calculate stuff involving waves by using complex numbers. Thus you use complex numbers in QM. You could use more dimensions in your schrödinger equation instead, but that is usually a lot more annoying to do. Furthermore, it being complex does not exclude real numbers, reals are a subset of complex. | ||
