If you go to a Champions league game in Italy as an away fan you aren't allowed to leave the stadium for 3 hours so they can make sure you dont get stabbed. Soccer riots end in mass stabbings

The Skytrain/Canada Lines have been shut down to prevent damage to them, The major bridges out of downtown have been closed and a lot of buses aren't going downtown either. People are literally stuck downtown since they don't know how to get out since some of them relied on just getting on a bus or going to a skytrain station to get home. That is just plain out not true. For hours the Skytrain, and seabus's have been running out of the downtown core... they are however only sending outbound traffic and not inbound traffic. All of that is pure BS.

Both CBC and CTV reported almost every 5 minutes that the Sky train was open and will stay open until 2:30 AM. They said the Sky Train was only open for people leaving the area not coming in though.

I just heard the part about closing skytrains/georgia viaduct to traffic and I assumed that that was a total closure.

If my fucking Kings won the cup. I think I'd be a little bit of a rioter. Why? Because we've never won the cup. "Screw this city for taking so damn long". Just kidding.... but really... As glad as I am that the 'nucks lost, I'm really disappointed that this shit (although totally expected), went down. It's always sad to hear about someone losing a life to an event like this. And I feel like posters suchas EcstatiC should be thoroughly ashamed about their posts. People RATE riots? That's insane and preposterous. Way to value the life of a dead man through a 1-10 scale. Even worse, people bragging about other cities where riots are bigger? What? Why would anyone be proud of their city acting so primitively? Not only that, but when other TLers are concerned, turn back around and call us pussies? I don't know if you've ever been raided before, but it's a terrible, and traumatic experience. If anyone is to grow up, it would be the people taking the situation so lightheartedly. Hopefully not an exorbitant amount of monetary and emotional damage was done. Best of luck Vancouver

In all seriousness... I love you Vancouver! Though some may think this isn't a good way to show your support.. it sure as hell gets the point across! And really What better way to show support for Swedish twins and a one eyed god(Malhotra for those that didn't get reference) Then burning looting and pillaging! Epic! Don't worry Canucks you'll slay the frost giant (Lol Chara) next year!

BUT, he bigger the riot shows how much drunker/prouder the people causing it are... and as a Canadian I think we can compete with anyone for being proud and drunk! Besides Vancouver was too bloody expensive to lvie in before... maybe now they will lower the living costs xD In all seriousness... I love you Vancouver! If we won, it would've been minor damage because for the most part, the several dozen thugs would've stirred up trouble regardless, but the 100k+ happy fans in dt vancouver would be too busy celebrating to cause major damage. However there are a lot of people who are just looking for an excuse after losing and those people are the ones causing trouble. I watched all of the game, including the cup presentation numbly on my couch at home, but I still respect the fact that Boston beat us. The fans who stayed behind in Rogers arena who stayed behind to cheer for the opposing team even as they lifted the cup are the true fans.
