But AFAIK the US is one of the most in debt countries at least in some ratio, dont remember where i read that, and i think a huge part of it is to china. I'm not even going to comment about my country cause i'd get depresed -.- On February 02 2005 13:51 ssidengi wrote: hm... can anyone tell me which countries are actually not in debt? ... I was always of the belief that people should be masters of their own destiny. If they want to smoke meth and rot their teeth out they should have that freedom. This is naive imo. When people do things like crack-cocaine or crystal meth, the problem isn't necessarily the fact that they are now under the influence of some pretty messed up drugs and are screwing with their general health, it's the fact that people do crazy shit when under the influence of these drugs. If everyone who ever did any relatively extreme drugs (heroine, meth, etc.) never left their house (or more realistically, their box they live in) then I wouldn't give a damn about it. The problem is that people who do these drugs also tend to commit atrocities that destroy other peoples' lives. The US is divided between the relatively really smart and the stupid. Very few people inhabit the middle ground. The conditions just seem to be there to raise incredibly capable individuals, but the potential is also there for many individuals to fall through a gap. I think I agree with this. The U.S. has some of the best research institutions/universities in the world, yet much of our population is incredibly stupid. I mainly hate the way the U.S. is perceived by foreign countries (fat, lazy, nosy, ignorant, arrogant), because for the most part, it's true. When I've been abroad in Europe I've seen some pretty stupid shit done by pretty stupid Americans... User was warned for this post

Yeah, and they destroy the lives of their children who aren't given a chance to become functioning members of society. That said, I hate everything Obama stands for. Watching him run our country into the ground makes me sick.

People complain about the weather all year around. In the summer it is too hot, in the winter it is too cold, in autumn it rains too much and in spring it rains too much. My country thinks it is a good idea to have an army that can't defeat any serious threat, just invest the money in the police and surrender in case of war. My country takes in huge amounts of immigrants then complains about them not integrating due to there being so many of them, even starting racist parties. Meh, I could go on about Sweden.

Koreans have way too much national pride esp the parents/grandparents. They strongly believe that they are better than everyone else just because they are Korean. Another problem with Koreans is that they care way too much about status/looks/etc. The U.S just has way too many dumb fucks that can fuck up a good country. Sarah Palin is a prime example of this, to have even 1 person support her is retarded, yet there are millions that do. Basically too many dumb shits here.

- The pace of the country is very slow. I feel it's a great country to settle down if you are old, but it's a terrible place if you have ambition or passion of any kind. I think the government does recognize this flaw, and it is consistently trying thing to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship (in Ontario at least), but, at least for now, it's not enough. When I first returned from Japan, my immediate reaction was that people walked really slowly in both Vancouver and Toronto. - Another big problem in Canada is that the country has trouble keeping talents within its borders. Top candidates get picked by firms in the U.S. and even overseas, and many aren't hesitant to leave their homeland. China: - The difference between the rich and the poor is still too great, and it's saddening. - Some of the people living in the more prosperous cities in China think they are the kings of the world; they refuse to take any criticism of their wonderful city, and believe everything they have is the best of the best. - Rich people in China are the worst; minus the money they have (through 'grey' channels I'd assume), most of them they are still just farmers. They have no respect for their surroundings, and lack even the most basic mannerism. This really struck me when I was in Tokyo, where apparently flocks of rich Chinese tourists shop in upscale department stores. They were always shouting, pointing and generally not showing a sign of respect to the Japanese culture (which is being polite, quite and reserved). - Pollution, labour laws, etc, etc. China still has a very long way to go. edit: Wow, this is really cool. Here's what I posted over five years ago! On February 02 2005 16:41 Cambium wrote: China: The government is corrupted, but you won't notice anything if you aren't anti-communism. Majority of the country is still poor. The difference between the rich and the poor is too great. Everyone is greedy and manipulative. Children are under too much pressure (too much competition). Canada: Taxes are too high (15%, WTF?) Too cold / Too much snow. Too hard to get liquor. edit 2: Hmm, I raised some interesting points about China last time... and lol at my Canada comments.

My GF and I lived with her uncle's family for a few weeks in China last time we visited together. He asked me for my opinions of SH, I said a few good things and also some things I did not like; he basically flipped out on me and rebutted every point I made =.=

![]() bureaucraZy overpopulation, nazis, dogs(like 1 dog per inhabitant comes close), and the very loose interpretation of the human rights, captilism, and the conflict of not having united culture due to history (ww2, cold war etc). MOST modern german music, german "schlager"(worst kind of music in the world), mafia like goverment-television channels superinsane Rich/Poor ratio translation/synchronisation of everything (one of the reason why manny germans can't speak proper english) lately: removal/great reduction of healthcare, access to free education, enforcing power of policemen, being at war because there is a HUGE american D1ck in Merkels 4ss Not germanies fault, but still annoying: having to use proxys often to get intresting content from other countries.

How do you feel about English being so prevalent in Germany? I took a few years of German here in the States only to learn that it's fairly pointless since most of Germany speaks better English than much of America.

Its not a state puppet, its not got any incredible bias to it, its free and fair... ...but it thrives on negativity, scandal and a vulgar "celeb" culture. No government can ever do a good job, because the we only want to hear about the bad. When there's nothing too wrong going on, we invent something bad to make up for it. Doomsaying shifts five times as many copies as good news. Politics, culture and the opinion of the people bend to reflect what the media reports, and its for the worse. I even blame our underperforming football team on the media. Libel laws in this country also suck big balls. London is the world capital in libel tourism: Saudi oil barons go to the UK to sue American authors for content written in books never sold in Britain. And public transport is appalling. But I can live with that. EDIT: Oh, almost forgot. Worst bit about the country: It rains. All. The. Time.
