I used to have a cat that would bring these fuckers in the house at night and we would be knocked out of our slumber only to be terrified by the sound of it's monstrous fucking wings flapping and it's beefy fucking thorax slapping mindlessly against the wall in the PITCH.FUCKING BLACKNESS. AND BEING SCARED SHITLESS TO GET UP AND TURN ON THE LIGHT SO YOU KNOW WHICH DIRECTION TO FUCKING SCREAM AT.
Couldn't have said it better.
Spiders, I can deal with (I mean regular-sized, not those American/Australian dog-sized monstrosities, I never faced one before). Mosquitoes, I have to kill them or I can't sleep. Wasps, they scare me but I can control it and make them go away.
But moths.. with their characteristic brrbrbzbrzbbzzbbrbrrr, mindlessly crashing against the nearest wall, in the darkness, with their completely random flight patterns... I would gladly exterminate them from the planet. And by extension butterflies, which are just moths but with ooooh such nice colors. Fuck them too.

Everything else, no matter how wriggly with a thousand legs and big fluttery wings it may be, I'll catch in a glass or something and put it outside. As long as it's not gonna injure me in any way, then I'm cool with it. I'd still duck out of the way if a moth was flying right at my face though. Also, I don't count spiders in the 'likely to sting/bite' category. I'll generally just leave them alone, or even rescue them if they're hanging out in the bath or something like an idiot. I live in the UK so the only spider I'm even a little worried about picking up are brown house spiders: + Show Spoiler +and they aren't actually venomous, but they can bite through skin so I avoid picking them up with my hands. (For those living in the US you might be thinking 'AHH, HOBO SPIDER'. It's in the same family, but it's not venomous. In fact, if you have house spiders they will keep the hobo spiders out by competing for their food supply.) Stop being scared of non-venomous spiders people! They're on our side! They eat all the irritating flying things that get inside - I never have flies buzzing against the inside of my windows for long because my spider buddies take care of it for me. SPIDERS 4 LYFE o/ Edit: Wikipedia seems to think it's called a giant house spider, I think. I've heard them called all sorts of things. Is there some sort of centralised database for identifying spiders? Hell yes, spiders representing o/ When I see a spider inside I usually just grab it and put it in the garden. Last summer they kept the flies away and I even spotted one of them trap and kill a wasp. Funny thing was that the wasp was maybe five or six times the size of the spider.
I'd probably say that the only bugs I really hate are wasps since they're so aggressive. They're really up in your face and if you do a bad move they'll get mad and sting you. Such idiots. Bees and humblebees are peaceful and good but wasps are ridiculous.
All in all, as long as they don't hurt me or bother me too much I'm fine with bugs.

Theyre just disgusting. Dirty and stuff so i dont like to touch them nor kill them -_-.. Being in NYC, i really havent seen all these varieties of bugs o_O.. flies, mosquitoes, moths, cockroaches, spiders are all that i see but only cockroaches and mosquitoes really annoy the fuck out of me because Cockroaches: the dirtiest of the dirty and mosquitoes: why would you embrace them?

Is it true that in the US of A cockroaches are frequently seen in most larger cities?

I hate old dying wasps,, they're always looking for someone to sting before they die..
And moths,, i hate those,, dusty bastards..

Definitely a combination of swatting with my hands/whatever I'm holding (though it would be closer to hysterical flailing) and jumping backward while screaming for help.

When i read this kind of thread, i bless God to be born in North of France qhere the most scary animals are medusa.

Don't really care, except for wasps flying close to my face, ever since one of them bitches got tangled up in my eyelashes and went friggin haywire. German insects, spiders etc, aren't all that scary though.

All wasps should DIAF!
Got stung 15 years ago when I was cycling in the woods. One of those mofos flew under my t-shirt and stung me in the middle of my chest. My skin got all red and had a "leathery" and dead feeling. Had to take some drugs to make it go away.
I simply cannot be in the same room as a wasp and if I eat outside and there is a wasp around I go inside immediatly.

the only insect i'm afraid of is the centipede. They're big, fast and aggressive.

Even they were a little scared, those fucking spiders pounce. Here's the aftermath:

Oh dear god, that is the most creepiest thing i've ever seen.
Why do I keep coming back to this thread ????

i fucking hate spider
story of my life: me 3 yo chilling on the couch, summer breeze and shits made me sleepy as fuck so i took a nap only to wake up realizing that there was a motherfucking hairy peter parker on my face ... pissed my pants and screamed to high heaven ... almighty mum heard me and got the little fucker out of my face -_-

Oddly enough, looking at all of these pictures has helped me deal with my fear of spiders, I think. After seeing a fucking spider badass enough to eat a motherfucking bird, no little, furry bastard spider around here is gonna scare me...

LOL this thread is so hilarious :D i want to add my fears and not fears to it: I'm for some reason 100% fine with spiders, i have spiders in my room sometimes and i've even woke up with some right in front of my eyes on the wall, or climbing on me. Doesn't bother me one bit i think they are cute. However, ants freak me out they are evil and disgusting creatures. Those pretty small black ants are usually ok as long as they aren't ON me and theres only 1 of them, but the larger or the red ones make me extremely uncomfortable and if anyone ever gets on me i panic a little and swiftly try to get rid of it. I don't fear wasps as much as fucking hate them, theyre always out to get me... these things can fly in front of you and never fucking go away until they have stung you or you get far far away from those fuckers. Bumblebees and bees are very nice though! i pet bumblebees when i get the chance (ie, bother them when theyre trying to gather nectar) and i've never been stung by one edit: fixed typo

+ Show Spoiler + Also, Huntsman or Clock Spiders as some people might know them as scare the shit out of me. I had one land on my head once, then I panicked, flailed around and ended up running into a wall and splitting my lip open.
