I liked things before others in hopes of creating a singular subculture that went against the norm and mainstream culture before everyone else to portray my individuality and independent free-thought and liberty to assess my own tastes without being droned to conform what everyone else liked. Here's a list of things of what I liked before you:

Sooooo much hipster...... But, in order to say my point, and not get a warning, ima say... I liked CS before it was cool.... All the source fags running around school saying "BOOM HEADSHOT" 5 years after 1.3.... :S Back to your hipfagotory.

The Matrix... I saw this in theaters.... anyone have any idea how long this movie took to become popular? geez 2. I would say skateboarding when i was much much younger (I'm 26) before it was more of a teenage social statement than something to actually do. 3. I played Counterstrike back somewhere around 1.3~? In those days, the A.K. always hit it's first bullet in the exact same spot, we used an ancient and forgotten technology called "Rodger Wilco" and often spoke like 7h15 4. Played pretty much every console rpg (let alone game) released in NA in the 8-16 bit era. I have to admit my hipster-nerd level skyrocketed when FF7 was released with flashy graphics and a PC port... 5. Played WC2, and as a result, played massive amounts of the SC1 demo (where you could only play TvT on one map). The cool thing was you could play it online, and there were even clans... ![]() 6. Played EQ close to release and WoW vanilla 7. I could talk about music... but I am only humoring this thread... I feel if I actually posted something I WOULD be a hipster :/

Some people really can't take the fact that they are just a normal human being. Yeah you liked it before it was "cool." So did everyone else. You aren't special, and they aren't giving out medals. Sorry. It's almost as if people based their identity on the fact that they were the "dub-step kid" or "hardcore-rap kid" and all of the sudden they lose their identity when other people start to jump on the bandwagon. If you want to pretend to be a refined individual who is sophisticated enough to like things that others are to inferior to like, then go listen to classical music. So what if everyone likes dubstep now? All the sudden, the drops are bad and the jokes pertaining to it suck, just because it's mainstream? That's absolutely ridiculous, and is just as bad as liking something because everyone else likes it, you just like something because everyone doesn't and you are probably 100 times more annoying about it ("hey, have you heard of this new band? Oh wait, you haven't because you aren't indie hipster like me"). Don't give me this "it changed after it got mainstream." As if just being "mainstream" means it automatically changes for the worst. Sorry if this offends. I think such an attitude is extremely immature, and while some of you might think that the more you grow up the more you will adopt such an attitude, I assure you that the opposite is true. You have the right to think whatever you want, and base what you like on whatever criteria you like, but if you base what you like on what other people like then I will exercise my right to think less of you.
