Last time I checked, novelty shirts weren't considered "cool". Why not just go to your standard department store and pick up something that looks nice but is affordable. If you have a bit more money, venture into the clothing specialized stores and pick up something there.

depends on how much you want to spend

unless you're willing to spend fairly much then your biggest concern should be matching and wearing clothes that fit you, imo.

Like choader said, go thrift shop browsing.

You'd be amazed at what cool vintage crap you can find at the local Salvation Army. Old rockabilly and 70's advertising tee-shirts.

If you didn't hear it, Grandpa's vintage plaid slacks are the in thing to wear these days.

That is, if you wanna be "cool." Otherwise, just wear paper-bags as tee-shirts.

I always like picking on those kids more than the cool kids, anyway.

I find any T-shirt with swear words on it distasteful. I swear regularly everyday, but to have them on T-shirts gives me the impression that the person is trying hard to be a rebel or something.

Seriously, do online T-shirts have to be so expensive? I'd pay for $20 for a nice T-shirt but not for a plain, typical quality black/white T-shirt with a few words printed on it.

The title of this post was "Cool Clothes." Novelty shirts are something that get lame really really quickly. They might be funny the first time you wear it or see somebody wearing it, but after the first time it really loses any sort of prestige it could have conveyed. Now because he labeled his topic "Cool Clothes", I felt I had the right to state that novelty shirts are generally accepted as not being "cool" things to wear in the places around where I live or have lived. Granted, I've grown up in a fairly wealthy area and I constantly see people dressing up quite nicely on a regular basis.

most novelty clothes are just that...novel. They are funny to start with, but get quite unfunny each time you see it, until it annoys you. "cool" clothes is very much decided by where you live and the type of people that you hang around eg. a punk and a surfer have very differentopinions on whats cool to wear. personally, i like to wear light coloured shirts, usually tighter than looser,( ralph laurens polo's are good) with baggy jeans (quiksilver or billabong make good jeans) and skate shoes.

i like shit like this. can anyone translate exactly? \
should say 'respect the emperor'

It says

"Uphold the empeoror, repel the barbarians"

It's a slogan used by the lower level "samurais" turned soldiers in the new Imperial army who marched against the Shogun government during the time of Meiji Restoration in Japan. This movement enable Japan to transform its oldself into an industrial powerhouse.

fcuk seriously isn't budget friendly? THere are some of those stores around here in Taiwan, but like heen I find the word that they're trying to "rip" off from and be "tastefully" rebellious or something distasteful and didn't know that they would be successful to make a good line of clothes or something. I do know they sell cologne, so I guess they must be doing OK...

How bout you wear... solid color shirts from target and blue jeans... like me. White socks also work well. Perhaps some shoes that match your activities.

Or maybe you could spend 200$ on some cool abocrombie gear. That's so hot right now.

I dont know, maybe I don't live in the metrosexual area of the country, but if a guy around here wore AE he would be interpreted as a flambouyant homosexual.

I was wondering if you people had tips on where to buy clothes , good places that normally aren't expected, I'm in the US so i can't get like Nudie (thought that they sold online, T_T), and I don't have the biggest budget either but if there is a good website wehre you can get cool shirts and stuff here is the thread to paste it -

for example I'm definitely getting a maddox.com shirt / purepwnage, etc

Last time I checked, novelty shirts weren't considered "cool". Why not just go to your standard department store and pick up something that looks nice but is affordable. If you have a bit more money, venture into the clothing specialized stores and pick up something there.

Considered cool??

What..? Considered cool by who? I don't even know what it is but if I think something is cool then, most of the time, what other people say or think couldn't matter any less ;o!

Hm yeah I suppose if you name your topic 'cool cloth' it could be taken as what is accepted as cool

Oh and insted of saying 'taken' in the sentance above.. isn't there some world that looks like 'Constriced' or something..? That's what I first thought of writing but I wasn't sure of its spelling/right word.
