Bane is an intelligent person who is also working with Talia Al Ghul to fulfill her Father's dreams of destroying Gotham, Joker wants control not annihilation. The reasons for Talia wanting Gotham destroyed was kind of weak though. Talia wanted to carry on the father's wishes of bringing "balance" back by destroying Gotham City

+ Show Spoiler +And I wanted to forward this question as well, I was confused to why she wanted to carry out her fathers legacy?

After just watching the movie I can conclude once again that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is even more awesome than previously thought. Fuck Batman, just give me Robin.
and + Show Spoiler +Did anyone else notice at the end of the movie, when Alfred was sitting at the cafe and he saw Bruce Wayne with a woman, did anyone notice that it was Catwoman?

+ Show Spoiler +Did you completely miss the part where that was probably the most tacked on and bullshit reason for anything?

No shit.
Also I like how you spoil something that really isn't a spoiler, but dont spoil probably the biggest plot twist in the movie.

I think the most memorable part of this movie was when + Show Spoiler +Joseph Gordon-Levitt was revealed to be Robin.

+ Show Spoiler +
- Bane's voice was funny and at times unbearable. - Batman recovered from broken vertebrae real fast. - Batman got destroyed by Bane; so, he did some push-ups and then he beats Bane no probs. - Random wise old cripple - Bane/Batman can appear randomly at any time. - Didn't like how it kind of turned into a mini war film. - Everyone with a name knew who Batman is. - As soon as Batman passed the gun (or was a knife) to miranda, you knew she was gonna backstab him. - Don't really get the point of the Miranda twist. It's like.. OK.. she betrayed batman.. so what.. there is nothing special about her. The nuclear bomb was already gonna explode anyway; the twist didn't affect the outcome of that at all... also, who cares if she's the daughter of the old dude from batman begins. - Film was 30 mins too long.

It's a movie to be seen but not a movie to be praised. I personally didn't like Anne Hathaway in this movie and would've prefer someone else to play Catwoman.

Enjoyed the movie. Not as much as Dark Knight, but still enjoyed it.
+ Show Spoiler +How did Bruce make it back to Gotham if a) he had no money since he went broke and b) nobody was allowed in or out of Gotham or the bomb would be triggered?
I also didn't like how Bane didn't have his "venom" that he uses to pump himself up. I wanted to see him bulk up to five times normal size! Bane strikes me as more of a powerful brutish guy than a calculating strategist, but my friends tell me that he's cooked up some fairly elaborate schemes against Batman in the comics.

All the things I absolutely hated Bane: his voice was laughably bad. The characters in this movie were terrible, besides alfred, batman, catwoman and Gordon everyone was just ...filler or random The movie was too long Bane is supposed to beat people up, not take over a city with wit and intellect...+ Show Spoiler + the end where batman dies and then comes back just, felt like I was trolled... Movie would have been better if he died and lives on as a symbol Hans zimmer carried this movie from crap to average, he totally saved this movie. Anne Hathaway was amazing. I really think Heath Ledger's death fucked up the direction they were going to take it. 7/10, dissappointed... edit: one more thing, character development takes a backseat to action and explosions
You clearly don't know what the Bane of the comics is like.

lol so many uninformed people
Bane was always supposed to be an intellectual foil to Batman though probably still more of a physical foil.
Talia specifically states that it was easier for her to forgive her father after he died, which I think is quite understandable as a human.
JGL is also not necessarily Robin either. I think it was intended more as a homage as Bale has stated that he will not appear in a movie as Batman if Robin is present. They could make subsequent movies about Robin based on this but it seems unlikely as Nolan has stated that this is his last movie in the franchise.

My favorite moment for Bane in the whole movie is easily:
+ Show Spoiler +When he puts his hand on the guy and asks if he feels in control. Such a small action, but so powerfull. You just instantly feel that Bane is completely in control.

I agree. Nolan did a really good job weaving the new characters into the movie and setting them up to become significant people at the end. John blake as robin? Who knew that was going to happen. Nolan doesn't have to make another sequel; the fact that he suggests that john blake will become robin at the end of the movie is really cool movie scripting.

Just watched it. It was an entertaining movie no doubt. Far from the greatest thing I've ever seen though. I don't think the movie did Bane justice (compared to the comics) and it was a bit predictable.
Am I the only one who liked Batman Begins the most?
