Or how mp3 players/ipods became extinct when cell phones could playback mp3s. Or how digital cameras became extinct when they fitted a piece of s**t with a lens on a cell phone? Please. Just because something can serve more purposes, doesn't mean it does it well. Plus, I love my watches a fkton more than I do my cellphones. I lose/break a cell phone every year and I don't even think twice about it when it happens. If I broke one of my watches I'd be sad. It's about soul and style my friend. You'll understand when you're 80 and people will still be wearing watches.

Should i get one with the leather strap or the black steel? I've been looking at them for over fifteen minutes now, like them a lot! The watch that I posted up right above you is fantastic for that occasion. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the metallic band is dark, not silver. It's like a metallic-gray color, really classy and really nice. The picture also shows little designs on the face, but they are hardly noticeable. Very classy watch, indeed.

It's about soul and style my friend. You'll understand when you're 80 and people will still be wearing watches. Well, fur is pretty much extinct around here (I see it skiing sometimes, though it's really rare - synthetic layers work fine). And mp3 players/ipods seem "mostly" extinct except for the itty bitty nanos that you might want for exercising with where a phone would be too bulky to be practical. Digital cameras aren't extinct because cell phones have terrible cameras, but even so, you definitely see way, way fewer cameras than you used to (go to some touristy landmark - sure, there are cameras around, but some very large percentage of people will be clicking away with their phones instead). In the same way, watches are basically going extinct. They perform 2 functions: telling time, and being a fashion accessory. They tell time worse than a phone does, since a phone is continually synced, any everybody carries a phone anyway, so really it's just a fashion accessory. That being said, I do own a watch - the cheapest waterproof watch I could find, for telling the time when I'm on the water kitesurfing. :D But I think it's just like mp3-players/iPod. Only really necessary when the larger form factor or fragility is a problem. For sure, they won't go "really extinct", because some people like the way they feel or look, but they are no longer necessary - just a way to look snappy like cufflinks or whatever. Sport watches will live in the way that iPods live as a smaller, lighter alternative when you don't want to carry your phone.

My watches usually have over 10 separate functions so I don't know why you think they only are for telling time or fashion. And there are a lot of models of watches now adays with atomic clock syncing that can happen 5-6 times a day, so some watches are equally as accurate as a phone. I personally hate carrying my phone in my pocket, and it's a hassle to fish it out, unlock it then check the time. It's a hell of a lot more convenient as I see it to have it available at a glance, as well as a lot of other useful functions.
