Hey, so if you haven't used www.grooveshark.com before, it's basically like Pandora except, as far as I know, it has a lot more features and it's ad-less and free. You can save playlists, repeat/go back to songs, add favorites, and share entire playlists with people for free. Okay, since that's out of the way, I'm looking for new electronic music and this is a great way for me to share the stuff I've found as well as find new music (: I'll post my best playlists with a little note on what kind of music is in them. This site is REALLY good if you're bored of your music and want to find new stuff. It's free to sign-up but you only need to do that if you want to save playlists, I think.

On January 18 2011 00:23 deanyo wrote:awesome playlist, thanks. ill share if i make any of my own Thanks, glad you liked it :D. Unfortunately, when I was posting these playlists I noticed a lot of the tracks somehow got shuffled around so they weren't opening with the strongest tracks like they used to; also, there's some rap in the trance and some trance in the rap playlists that I never got around to cleaning up.
I'll be sure to have future playlists be more clean, but yeah hopefully you guys will create and share some good ones of your own!

Rad, will check it out. I like a lot of day9's music. Cough day9 make a playlist and post it here...
I'll update the OP with user-submitted links for as long as I can.

Loving the chill/ electro mix :D

Does anyone know if TLO uses grooveshark?

Just edited the OP with a new playlist, it's pretty good check it out! Basically an excuse to bump this =x

Shamefully enough, I just open up the "Popular" tab thing and listen to Katy Perry and whatever else the 13 year old girls like. :O

Saw Infected Mushroom live a few months ago =)
Will add some playlists; granted I'm pretty liberal which goes on each one. For example, I have a Has Zimmer play list which has the full scores to the films I wanted in there rather than particular favorite songs. Those I'll 'heart' ;p

Love pandora so I will give this site shot, thank you for sharing

|
Nevermind , this thing is awesome!(bump) I'll post a playlist in a few days/weeks. 1) doesnt use much bandwidth( comparatively to youtube videos) 2) actually does have an extensive library of songs 3) real good quality!
|
Does anybody know how to download the songs from your playlist?
|
This is actually quite impressive in terms of library size. I tried a similar program (forget the name) and it was severely lacking. Grooveshark has quite a lot of obscure 70's prog artists in the database.
|
Im so glad i looked this up instead of using pandora forever, the random horrible songs that usually popup made me cry . This looks amazing though and im currently making a very small playlist which i will post when i get it finished soon :D.
|
|
I would love to know where he got and what is PainUser's library of house/trance/dubstep. His stream always has great music.
|
I just discovered this website. I don't usually listen to music but his makes it so convenient.
|
sharks can't groove, you fools!!! the Kpop i hear before GSL starts!

Somebody needs to find Hashe's grooveshark! Best stream music evah!

Hm, i'l have to check this out when I get home. I think I can whip up a good "Angry Music" playlist.

Incredible I've never heard of this, but it's much better than listening to the other sources I had streamed =o and takes less bandwidth too !! Thank you OP
|
|
|
Wow. This is an amazing idea for a thread, thanks OP ^^

Some pretty good music in there but...
is there a way to disable the "idle" thing...? I'd like to have it run while say, playing SC2 or background music while studying/cooking but its a nuisance if you have to move the cursor around in windows to prevent it from stalling.
Doesnt seem to be in the basic feature, maybe you have to create an account? Anyone know?
|
Thanks grush, i was looking for some music exactly like this to play starcraft with. XD Would love it if more people put up some more dubstep playlists? LD

Keep up the good work guys prob an incentive to "pay" for it so i don't think so, but you might be able to if you buy their.. service? but it happens so rarely so idk, i guess i ADD from sc2 a lot so it doesn't often think i'm idle...
updating now
e~ kay updated =] oh i forgot to add in a recent pop one i just made, it's short but if you turn radio on it'll find more good stuff =) AWESOME ke$ha blow remix in there.it goes hard.

Well if you took a look at it there's a list of the genres at the top
Here's my hip-hop playlist to get me concentrated, highly lyrical in my opinion. The song 5ves mentions starcraft very briefly so I figured why not add it in =p

They should make a Grooveshark iPhone app :/

This is a playlist of a semi-random collection of songs from The Grateful Dead, The String Cheese Incident, Keller Williams, Phish and a couple other artists. For those of you who dont know who these people are, the genre is Jam Bands/Blue Grass. I am adding more songs to this as I go along and find more great songs of this genre.
http://grooveshark.com/#/playlist/Jam Bands/44394521?src=5
Enjoy!
|
This is the Canucks groovy beats! Most of these songs are upbeat with the theory it keeps you pumped up through the games. However I am Parov biased so a few extra songs made it in. This list is ever changing, I will take songs out when i am playing and it does not groove right and I look for new music constantly.

Great playlist... have to get some mos def, common, and talib on there though.
edit: added response to soullogik's playlist.

I've taken most of my favorite songs, I have a really broad taste - there is a lot of no-stress, dubstep, pretty much anything in there from Led Zeppelin, Chris Isaak, Trentemøller - but I've been really careful by only taking my absolute favourite singles. Check it out and please tell me what you think, I can guarantee you will at least find one song you haven't heard but will fall in love with, despite your taste (it's a short list, so give it a try!!!)

Could really use a good jazz/blues/funk playlist.

anybody know what destiny uses when he streams
|
http://grooveshark.com/#/deltrus/music I'm reposting it from before because I cut out ~70% of the old songs and only kept my favorites. Since then I've been adding really good music.
Most of it either is fast paced, epic, or intellectually stimulating. Not much of it is mainstream. Lots of game music.

Does anyone know how to get the toolbar grooveshark? I've seen it on trimaster's stream. While he plays SC he has a little toolbar menu at the top that he can click next song or whatever. Anyone know how to do this?

Anyone got a good study music? I'm a fan of more orchestral stuff (that sounds slightly nostalgic or epic), though throwing in some vocals and guitar is okay.

This is what I'm using up. It's basically the OST for Chuno, Titanic, LOTR, Gankutsuo, 5c/sec and a few other things smashed together. I'm too lazy too add individual pieces, hehe.

Trying to add every song I love. Trance, drum and bass, rap like Kid Cudi/Childish Gambino, metalcore. The stuff I just sit around relaxing to, go on walks listening to, go to the gym listening to. Maybe someone else will like some of these songs.

I find everyone's taste in music in this thread to be rather... exotic and particular.
Here's my playlist, some of my favorite songs at the moment, they're all "normal" popular songs, stuff on the radio, top 40, etc., a few of which are very recent: http://grooveshark.com/#!/playlist/Normal Pop Songs/74543498
If you think current mainstream American pop music is bad, hopefully you'll enjoy these songs and be proved wrong.
I would also be interested in how people acquire such obscure taste in music.

Hi! I made DeMusliM's playlist because he's using Pandora which cannot be accesed from Europe as far I know...Njoy!
DeMusliM's Playlist
Dunno if this post is dead or what but sharing anyway

Thanks for all the contributions. I've found a lot of good music here

I used to have a version of this playlist back during the good ole imeem days (rip). Hopefully someone else here also enjoys. It's mostly things like Trip Hop/Down tempo with some Breakbeats and some Acid Jazz. Note worthy artists include pretty much all of the Samurai Champloo soundtracks, and some RJD2 and Nomak and Nujabes. Enjoy

Welcome to TL, first-time poster! Thanks for the playlist, I love movie soundtracks. Most of those soundtracks I already have, but I'm pretty happy to have discovered the "Into the Wild" soundtrack via your playlist. Cheers.

Aw fuck I can't update the OP any more it seems >_>
It seems people have still been using my playlists. If anyone is interested in a very quality electronic playlist, this is by far the best one I have by a lot:
