All joking aside, hope no one is hurt, everyone stay safe and most importantly keep your computers on the second floor! Please have some respect? Especially seeing as you are from the UK. Go to a foreign country kill most of the indigenous population then claim it as property of the king. 200 years later laugh at what a place used to be called before the invasion.

Go to a foreign country kill most of the indigenous population then claim it as property of the king. 200 years later laugh at what a place used to be called before the invasion. Huh. Firstly, you know there are plenty of places in the UK that are named what they are because the Romans took their indigenous names and Latin-ified it. Secondly it was a joke. Anyway, here I was with my bravado earlier thinking that since I live on a hill I'm fine. Little did I know that while on a hill, my car park is a local minima. Fortunately my nearby university has waved the second story parking fees and after de-shoeing and wading through a foot of water to evacuate my car, it is now safer from the flood water's than me. And I'm having less trouble than 90% of people in the city due to local geography, so my thoughts are with everyone in QLD and around Australia who's suffering from the water.

I'm in a suburb thats not on the list, but any of the suburbs towards the river from me are aparantly going to get flooded. Hoping that the fact that i'm at the top of a hill will stop me having to evacuate. Getting worried tho, cant contact my parents. good lucky everyone Feeling much the same here. I'm not in immediate danger but I've been helping and hearing of multiple friends/family who have had to evacuate so far. The rain just literally isn't letting up, never seen the Brisbane river this vicious.

Everythings mostly alright here in Melbourne so far. Been raining most of the day here though. QLD is completely insane at the moment from what I've been seeing on the news all day.

I can't remember the last time I saw the sun ![]() Fortunately I'm on top of a hill, but I went out and got some supplies (read, coffee and chocolate) just in case. I lol'ed at your name. I hope everyone is allright and no major damage is done.
