Actually, since lightyears are distance light has to travel, it's also a measurement of time, since there is a velocity tied to light. Actually, since lightyears are distance light has to travel, it's also a measurement of time, since there is a velocity tied to light. So in the end: lightyear = year = distance = time = space, not in the most elegant order ofcourse. A Lightyear is not "a distance light has to travel", it's just distance. I could travel a lightyear in a couple of millennia if I had an appropriate ship.
