Basically it was a Performance art class. Performance being my least favorite of the arts, i was stuck in that class to graduate.
Second week, I, along with 2 others had a class presentation. The girl presenting tells the teacher she has a performance and a costume to go along with it. Teacher tells her to go outside of the class and don her costume. She comes back with this baggy 1-piece rag (for lack of a better word) and places a sweater on the ground. calmly takes off her left shoe, then her right. Sits on the sweater, slides her hands down her pants, and starts to masturbate. With sound. And you can tell she finished when her toes clench and her body shivers and she lets out a large breath of air.
I was trying my best not to burst out in laughter....

To clarify, the act itself doesnt bother me. If she wants to do it in front of class or have sex with a chicken I dont really care. What bothers me is how she somehow considers what she did to be a performance art. The "art" more specifical...ly annoys me. I think its ridiculous that someone can do something that has been done before many times just to shock people and somehow that is considered to be art in any way. By that logic the Pain Olympics or 2 girls 1 cup is an art.
I think there should be limits or else it devalues the entire thing. A cheap way of getting shock value. That's what bothered me about her presentation.
