I don't see why everyone is over reacting to this so much. Really none of the concepts are new. I knew people in high school that would get a hamburger and take it off the bun and eat it with a fork. The concept of two different meats on a sandwich/burger is not new (baconator or even more simply a Bacon cheese burger fromwendy's).
None of this strikes me as novel. Also the nutritional facts are not as bad as some other fast food items (granted the sodium content seems rather high). I think this is not an example of our health getting worse but just more of the. Same.
To add too, it does take about 15 minutes to feel full when you eat. The reason you feel "full" faster when drinking protein shakes and/or water is because it actually fills the space in your stomach. Annorexic people use this trick to feel full while eating less.

People are making a big deal over nothing, methinks.
It's not so much the nutritional value that people are talking about. It's the replacing of bread with fried food. It's like when they make breakfast sandwiches with donuts instead of english muffins or toast.
I don't see a problem with any of these things. Breakfast sandwiches made from pancakes instead of toast are delicious.
shit, i do this at McDonalds all the time. Get 2 McDoubles and 1 McChicken. Take off the bottom bun of 1 McDouble, and the top bun of another. Put the chicken patty/lettuce (gotta keep some healthy stuff) between the two meats and it's delicious! Tastes even better if you add Sweet & Sour or Barbecue sauce to it.
I'm sitting at work right now staring at the picture, and now I realize how much I really want to eat this sandwich right now. Have any of you ever been so hungry that you sat there thinking "Oh god I wish *x* would just fall out of the sky in front of me so I could eat it right now!"

Tried one today. It's actually pretty good; got mine fresh and it was steaming hot. Now that I've tried it, I'll never order another, as it's not even close to being worth $5. I'd rather two McGangabangs, or a 4x4 if I'm aiming to kill myself. The chicken was also a touch too salty.
With every bite, the Double Down swings from culinary masterpiece to abomination. it is blessedly small. The first bite brings a masterful mix of flavors: salt, pepper and smoke, followed by the sharp tang of what is ostensibly swiss cheese. As teh hot chicken melts the cheese, however, the double down becomes an entirely new beast, tasting not unlike a salt lick that has been marinated in alcohol. The center is almost intolerable, but I perserved and I'm glad I did. I survived my first Double Down. The experience was not unpleasant and is one I may repeat, if only to have that first bite again.
