What/Who exactly is "attractive" to you if Taylor Swift isn't? She's gorgeous imo and it's hard to look at a blond and say she's not at least a bit attractive. And she was looking good at the VMA's too, though she was crying between the point of Kanye coming on stage to her performance.

That said, Beyonce is so disgustingly overrated. She's an okay singer (certainly nothing spectacular), and her music fucking blows. The only reason she's talked about so much is because she's hot. And Single Ladies is, quite possibly, the most annoying song I have ever heard in my life. I hate it so much.

in the current music industry where shitty singers can make it big (see: miley cyrus and even our very own taylor swift, who is just awful live), i don't think i'm overrating her at all. you won't see her on stage at the met (partly because she never went that direction despite being classically trained, although i do doubt that she'd be able to lay comfortably as a mezzo/soprano in an opera setting), but she definitely has the ability to sing very well. her vocal range is huuuuuge (not quite like mariah carey's full 5-octave range going up into the head tones/whistle register though), she has a rich, full voice, and, from what i've heard of her, she has the lungs to put power behind it. seriously, who in the current pop/rnb industry do you think can match her? mariah carey sure, christina aguilera yes, kelly clarkson not close. alicia keys is good but not quite like this, britney spears was never at this level (and she's just bad now) -- and the greats of old aren't really around the mainstream industry anymore (whitney houston, celine dion, aretha, labelle, etc). she's very similar to aaliyah who was a great singer in her own right.

I absolutely love your list of vocalists. Seriously. And I actually hate Taylor Swift's voice/music (although I appreciate her for being a good role model). But something has ALWAYS bugged me about Beyonce's tone (like when she sang 'At Last'. she totally should have left that one alone =\ Etta Jame's voice is so much more mature/full for that song). It's so nasally especially in her upper register that it shouldn't even count as 'in her range'. And comparing beyonce to whitney/celine/mariah is like comparing paul potts to pavarotti. To me Taylor Swift is good looking but not attractive. My impression of her is failed innocence, but Jessica Biel is hot, same with Jessica Alba. There are others that I can't think of right now. But most celebs are meh, they're all photoshopped and shit so its hard to actually get a good look unless I meet them in public which me living half way across the nation from LA makes that kind of hard .
