On a side note, after looking at OKC and the Durantula in the minicamps for the national team, I am really hoping for that team to shake up the West.

Then he'll go jeopardize his potential hall of fame future by mailing in his games a la Candy man style. And hall of fame future? Kobe would have to break his back and lamar odom carry them to 2 more championships averaging 30-15 before I see that happening. On a more objective note, he's #39 amongst active players for hall of fame probability with 1.80% http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/hof_prob_active.html behind shoo ins like Jerry Stackhouse, Michael Redd, Rip Hamilton, Stephon Marbury

Odom is good, but he's not that good. He's only played to about 50% of his potential for his whole career, and he's not going to start at 30. He could have been 9034854309x better over his career than he has been because he's insanely talented, but really he doesn't care enough / just likes to have fun. He's a really strong 15-11-5 player, but his ceiling is so much higher (never will reach it). Olowokandi never had any real talent to speak of. He was just a big man who had a little post game and got hyped way too much. He never even showed flashes of being anything big. He mailed it in because obviously he didn't care about basketball - he's the kind of guy who really only played basketball because he was 7'1 and people told him he should play it. He got his paychecks, left the league, and most likely hasn't thought twice about any of it (except turning down a $60 million contract from the Clippers). O___O

I wonder what they base it off of. TMac with a 97% chance of making the hall of fame? A guy who has never got out of the first round? Vince Carter 90% chance? What the fuck?

MARBURY? MARBURY? And the link you posted is pretty hilarious in its attempt to quantify HoF membership. And Odom is more talented against those guys being able to shoot (including 3s), rebound, direct offense, guard many kinds of players and positions and dribble penetrate. I said potential Hall of Fame future which he can define or throw away. He's never been a dominating player, he's never been an intimidating force through out his career, there isn't a season where you just say wow, Odom can lead a team to something, he's just not that kind of player, but he is a unique player with a very broad range of skills. There is little doubt that he could have gone after his stats this past season and won 6th man of the year but he didn't and came off the bench playing well. If he plays the Swiss Army Knife role out the rest of his career, I can see him being on the ballot a few times. Um on the house, like score, I am a multi-million NBA basketball player...you finish the rest of this.
