I guess many of you players here have played World Of Warcraft. I have a 5m sp Eve character with over 30 days left of playtime. 1D from finishing Level 5 on learning, +3 implants and a clone in highsec. I am actually interested in a trade. Eve for WoW - This is semi illegal with the rules Eve apply's but hey if they can sell, trade and give away characters I can bend the rules a bit tho. If anyone is interested please contact me for a more formal discussion and a nice chat. | ||

Is there another way to get my API key? Whenever I try to, it sends me to the forums, and I log in, and then it says I can't log in until my account has been made for 3 days but as said earlier, it's been made for 9 months xx I guess it counted as me being inactive since my trial expired and then I bought the game recently? I suppose I'll try again tomorrow. Also: should I level up the basic and advanced learning skills to 5 shortly after getting those other requirements or is it way too long of a time investment to get those to 5? | ||

Basic Learnings to V and Advanced to IV and you'll be fine. | ||

I've recently started playing, and am really not sure about where I want to go in the game. Just working on finishing up my Learning skills after quickly making the ISK to buy the 4.5 mil ones through less-than-noble means. I'm thinking about either moving up to more 'organized' piracy with friends, or trying to get actively involved in in 0.0 (difficult with my very low SP I'd imagine). | ||

I got low SP but that doesn't stop me from being bored at a gate like the best of em | ||

PvE and PvP skills walk hand in hand, so it would be the most logical decision to go for mission running. You can get into a Drake fairly fast, and it's a great mission running ship. After you got that down, start thinking about ships that specialize in electronical warfare. You have several options, you could go with the cheaper ships, such as Griffin and Blacbird, or go for the shinier stuff such at Caldari Recon ships (Falcon and Rook) or maybe the Scorpion, a battleship dedicated to electronic warfare. You won't have any trouble finding a fleet that wants you, any sensible FC knows that there can never be to much ewar :D | ||

 You know, do the tutorials -> go to place x -> train skill y -> buy ship z -> equip it with xxx and you should be good for early mission running. | ||

Get Caldari Frigate to Lvl 3 or 4 as fast as possible, and purchase a Kestrel or Merlin. Both of these ships are way better than the one you start in. I think you get a kestrel in the military career agent mission line, but I might be wrong. Check www.battleclinic.com for cookie-cutter fits for your Merlin or Kestrel. Remember to ask questions in the newbie channel or in the corp channel if you have any, people actually help eachother quite often in EVE, believe it or not. There is alot of stuff to be done when you are new, so it's hard to give a step by step guide. Someone will say "Train the learning skills to this or that", which is what you usually do with new characters. This however, ruins the New Player Experience, so I wouldn't worry about the learning skills right now, wait a couple of weeks before getting into those, or you are going to have a pretty boring experience. I can't be asked to explain learning skills (You will probably learn about them soon enough anyway), that is "Learning skills", there is a category called learning, under which there are 11 skills to be trained, lots of people get confused by that. | ||

We as part of Gentlemen's Club alliance are allied with Atlas corp at the momment. We wanted to go on a road trip for some more PvP early december. It has turned out pretty well. So we started hitting Geminate region where Wildly Innappropriate an NC aligned alliance calls home. And we got quite a few awesome fights in the campaign so far. Intitally, we went there for some Tech moon goo and didnt plan on contesting Sov (seriously contesting anyway). And actually taking moons themselves were also to instigate fights. Since initially we didnt plan on being here too long and we cant really road trip to geminate every single day to protect them. We have won a vast majority of the majour fights. Only losing a kinda big fight in K25 once and a couple small roaming engagments. We have had some good laughs at the NC propaganda concerning fights and events so far. It's like as jaw dropping and silly in hindsight kinda like reefer madness. And the sad part is a lot of their members seem to believe it. However, recently around new years or so. It became clear we will be doing operations in geminate for a exented period of time. For one thing, we are allied with Triumvirate who has also been attacking the western front of NC alliances for while now aswell. They have taken over 2 stations system, and have killed a NC titan last week. So they are also performing very well against the NC. So, the NC has had to juggle between us and them 30 jumps away, and that can be very taxing on their morale, sanity, and logistics. Its been kinda fun in a sadist way, like a cat playing with mouse for hours watching the NC having the juggle and fail a bit at both fronts. The station system Tri just took was a Mostly Harmless station. Since losing that station, 2 Mostly harmless corps have left them. So they may have started the fail cascade. Also, Tomcat the Wildly Inappropriate CEO just sent out an alliance mail, basically saying if you don't participate in the war effort against Atlas and us that they will get warning, fined, explusion in that order. There morale is starting to crumble a bit and there numbers have been getting noticibly lower each time there is a large 'something' to fight for. That mail was an attempt to get their numbers back up. Other alliances have tried this, and its had the opposite effect each time. There numbers get worse and worse and very bad things start to happen quickly for the alliances that impose that. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the comming weeks. Another reason we don't want to leave yet is political. NC is aligned with Goonswarm which is in the south western part of EVE. They come to each other aid whenever things go bad. Atlas and goons don't get along to well, and GC has had goons red forever aswell. We are keeping the NC tied down and now people are starting to attack goon space. People are smelling blood in the water it seems and its just starting to kick off. Sons of Tanagra left Fountain a few weeks ago (don't know if PL got sick of their allies or they left on there own). And PL is also leaving Fountain now. IT alliance is now running amok in fountain largely unchecked and one can see who there next target is going to be. They hate goons with a passion for (see the metagaming thread) obvious reasons and fountain and delve are right next door. So it doesnt take much prediction power to see where ITs going to be attacking next. Also, goons will be getting attacked on two fronts it looks like. AAA and stain region alliances have been attacking goons eastern front. I think they will get bored with that soon. They don't seem to have much stomach for long campaigns. Or, they might just be getting started who knows. But in either case, it will help ITs northern assult go much easier once that kicks off. So, we all kind of want to see how that all plays out so it will be good to keep NC nailed down for the time being. yah, lots of typos, bias, and grammar errors ftw.. | ||

It seems GS is still motivated and can get the numbers they need. Locals spiking ~900&1000 aren't working greatly for battles outcome (lag generations stuffs) but it's still great fun. Just my 2 cents. | ||

Will see how it goes. Do the skills continue training when I'm logged off? Caldari Frigate 3 is going to take ~10hrs | ||
