Pistons Boston Greenies Cleveland Lebrons The Turkoglu Show The Rap Attack Wizards Philly 3000 I guess... Milwaukee, who look sneakily competent. Hmm... Don't believe in D'Antoni NYC, at least not this year. The Net's biggest star player is Mr. Salary Cap Space You can't win with shitty PGs and shitty Centers, so no Miami Larry Brown + Bobcats is a square peg in a star-shaped hole, Too much drama in the ATL, I don't trust TJ Ford under Jim OBrian, Chicago is where it was five years ago, except with promising young guards to squander instead of promising young bigs to squander, West Playoffs: BZZZZZZ Lakers (damn I just realized how stacked this team is... shit) Jazz AMARE+NASH= PICK AND ROLL 9000 China's Favorite Team San Antonio Bionic Men too much quality still in Dallas BLAZER YOUF MOVEMENT I love you AI, Melo... but... sorry. I love you too Baron, but no. If one of their starters get injured they won't over-achieve this season. Maybe they'll get 5th with homecourt advantage or 4th, but not top 3. IIRC, their starters didn't miss much last season and still just got 2nd while Spurs, Rockets and Lakers had injuries the whole damn season and finished with the same record, a game behind and a game ahead, respectively. Blazers won't make the playoffs. I have Clippers possibly stealing a seed if any of last years playoffs contenders drop off. No one seems to be giving the Clips a shot because they have injury prone players but I think they'll have a pretty good year regardless. (and no, that isn't because I'm from L.A. as I don't really care much for them) **If the Rockets don't have major injuries this season they'll definitely compete for top in the west. Also, if no major team chemistry blow-ups occur or anything that creates some locker room problems. Lakers winning the chip. Mostly 'cause I'm a Lakers fan but, yeah, they're too good. IMO, they just need to trade Odom for another starting SF so space cadet doesn't fucking start. My god is his defense shitty and his 3 pt. shot seems so inconsistent that I doubt he'll even help spread the floor much. And mob squad for the fucking win. Farmar+Ariza have been so damn good in pre-season so I hope they produce in the same way come opening night. Most of this is just baseless stuff without much thought actually going into it so don't mind it too much. I'm just happy the season is finally about to start so I can get my NBA fix. **Who am I kidding? T-Mac will miss his usual 12+ games per season, Yao will miss his 20+ games per season that have become routine since the last couple of years and it will probably cost them a top seed. thank god for the disclaimer at the end, I was about to ask if you were on drugs. Also Odom is reportedly already comfortable with coming off the bench, but he'll still play a lot of minutes.

Teams I'm super excited about: Portland. How can you NOT love this team? Oden, Aldridge, Roy, Fernandez! This team is LOADED. They won't win the chip but they sure will make the playoffs. Roy and Fernandez are both absolutely great playmakers, with Roy being a monstrous scorer. Aldridge is also a good developing Forward/Center at times putting up around 17 ppg. Oden, the 1 year late Rookie is on everyone's radar for a damn good reason. Philly - mainly to see what the impact of Elton Brand will do with Igoudala and Andre Miller around. Maybe next year they'll be even more fearsome. Cleveland - I don't think you guys realize just how good Mo Williams is. He is REALLY fucking good. Lebron finally gets THE piece he needed - a legit scoring threat that can go off at anytime who can also make plays. Sure his defense isn't the greatest but he can SCORE. If he played all 82 games last season he would have scored around the same amount of points as Andre Miller or Steve Nash.

Lakers 2. Hornets 3. Spurs 4. Portland 5. Phoenix 6. Houston 7. Utah 8. Minnesota (in no particular order outside or 1,2,3) . So then I'd predict something like: Lakers vs Utah/Suns (or some other team) Hornets vs Portland Lakers vs Hornets Lakers champs. something along those lines. so uh, where did your post come from -_-;

Realistically, I know it will be a tough road. It can be done, it's not impossible, but it's difficult. I'm predicting 2nd round playoff exit, as a diehard Celts fan.

celtics pistons cavs 76ers raptors chicago will rebound i think milwaukee can make it miami will sneak in for the 8th spot west playoffs lakers new orleans houston utah portland dallas SA annnnnd i'll say PHX for fun no particular order wizards will have to be carried by jamison (after his contract year = fail) and butler (who will continue to do awesome as long as he isn't arrested) after arenas blows out his knee again atlanta fails to build on their momentum from last year and does terrible portland makes the conference finals if they can integrate oden well i would love it if portland or new orleans took out the lakers

HonestTea will eat a basketball if they do ![]() So then I'd predict something like: Lakers vs Utah/Suns (or some other team) Hornets vs Portland I find it almost impossible that a team as young and inexperienced as the Blazers (they have ZERO playoff experience and are really young... seriously, REALLY young) who still doesn't have a set rotation or any idea which players are going to get serious PT outside of Roy, Aldridge, and Oden (if healthy), will be able to take down PHX, HOU or UTA in a 7-game series. If they finish in the bottom 4 (which I expect them to do), then I find it even less likely they'll take down LA, NOR, or SA in a 7-game series. Utah making it to the second round? I'm confused as to what you're expecting from them this season. In one post you're predicting that they'll "crash and burn", and in the next you're predicting they make it to the 2nd round of the Western Conference playoffs. Those two predictions are very far apart.

1. They are a very young team. 2. Their starting SF, Batum, and one of the guys everyone's expecting to have a huge year, Fernandez, have never played in the NBA before. There is always an adjustment period for international players that usually lasts a whole season. 3. Their best players, Roy, Aldridge, and Oden, have all had trouble staying healthy despite being very young. Oden, in particular, has yet to play in one actual NBA game, and hasn't had to go through the grind of a long NBA season. His conditioning was a problem during preseason, do people really think it'll improve once they start traveling and playing 3-4 games a week against much better competition? Keep in mind that Oden's size and strength will also make him a target for opposing teams, a la Shaq, so he's going to be getting hit a lot during course of each game. 4. Their PG situation is unsettled. Blake is a decent option, but not great and certainly not good enough to lead a team to where people are expecting POR to go this season. Bayless is a rookie, nuff said. Rodriguez has shown flashes, but he's inconsistent and isn't a very good option either. 5. They have zero playoff experience as a group. The only players with even some playoff experience (I think) are Blake and LaFrentz. Blake wasn't exactly a key cog for any of the teams he's been on and LaFrentz might not even step on the court this season. This doesn't mean that I don't think the Blazers could have a very good season, but I think people need to realize that a very good season for the Blazers would be just making the playoffs period. Not even their players expect to do much more than use this season as a stepping stone, and are just hoping to sneak into the postseason. These predictions where they end up as a top 4 seed and make it past the 1st or 2nd round of the Western Conference playoffs (a ridiculously stacked conference) just come off as unrealistic to me. It's not impossible it is quite improbable.

West: 1.)Hornets 2.)Lakers 3.)JAZZ!! 4.)Spurs 5.)Portland 6.)Houston 7.)Phoenix 8.)Dallas I wouldn't be surprised if Houston didn't even make the playoffs. I am really not sold on the fact that Artest is going to make that big of a difference. Don't get me wrong he is a good player and all but its not going to matter when T-mac and Yao are injured half the season. As far as the Portland goes they are quite young and do have a really deep team. We will have to see how sound they really are as a whole when they play the Lakers tonight. I am really excited for this game and think it will be a great test to see how good they actually are.

Sigh...I love conley jr but I really hate the Griz... I'm a big Laker hater so when Memphis traded Gasol they obviously earned my hatred as well. I'd love to see him do well while his team flounders, if that makes any sense. And considering their PG situation I'm also holding out hope that he gets traded to some other team so I can root for him wholeheartedly. Burress? Did you mean Jerryd Bayless? Yeah he's still on the Blazers. Watching him play is also enticing, man I can't wait to watch them tonight!
