The problem was that the bottom of the top 64 or sth was done ONE AT A TIME on the big screen. Meanwhile, something like 12 XB360 tournament stations were just SF4 casuals during the entire time that SF4 went into overtime. Srsly, a dozen stations were essentially ABANDONED for all tournament purposes for a good 4 hours or so. BB was put on hold while all the 23" stations were reserved for absolutely nothing (tournament-wise) while SF4 was slowly finished, one match after another, on the projector big screen. Again, nothing that HFA could do other than herd all the BB players to bitch and whine about the situation. Wow, I don't really know what to say about this. To compound matters, once the brackets were finalized with all those who were waiting patiently for 8 hours to register on-site and momentarily denied, the bracket-drawer disappears. With the laptop. That has the brackets. Apparently that guy decided to go eat pho on whim. I can't blame HFA for this, since this is a clear demonstration of unprofessionalism on the part of whomever that was. Pretty lame.. Now that BB actually started, there was a serious problem. XB360 was the only platform... XB360 does not offer Type A/B/C screen adjustment on Composite (Yellow-cable video). Why was this a problem? It gave Nu an invisible 4D, coming in from the edge of the screen that was cut off. The idea was raised of using a PS3 instead, but, wow, were they insistent on having all Astrals unlocked. Take a quick survey of the top 8 players... how many of them would SERIOUSLY use a non-arcade Astral? Or at all, for that matter? I understand the reasoning on using only one console, but man they actually cared about astrals?... After reading about other reports of WCW and this post itself, I'm pretty glad I didn't go to WCW and get raged out of it. | ||
