also although i haven't gotten the chance to try it (i played the game a total of 4 times on the arcade version) i've seen good players in the arcade infinity vods mess up that launch to ultra combo, you sure it's that easy?

i've seen players do the ultra too early or too late

Yea, the cr. fierce to ultra is very easy to combo. If cali players dropped it, they choked xP
Abel has a lot of beginner friendly options like his j.mk is extremely hard to beat air to air and crosses up most chars with ease, he's got a potemkin anti air grab, his main bnb is a rekka that only requires you to keep mashing forward with a punch or kick for high / low, and easy to execute throw (half circle as opposed to 360) which can easily be ticked off the same moves you use for his bnbs.
Only main drawback is his normals seem to kinda suck.
I'm not trying to make a statement about high level abel play btw, I'm just saying you can learn all his combos and apply them in real matches with almost no practice.

I still think Sagat is the easiest character to learn. No important links outside of his extremely easy SADC Ultra, simple high priority ground game (my button beats yours lol), and the most complicated motion outside of supers and ultras is DP motion. And the guy has no bad matchup... yet.

it's not out in the US is it? I thought there were some licensing issues that prevented it from being released as of it, and I don't have a modded wii or anything like that so I can't buy japanese or bootleg versions

it's alright, i haven't played in months though because i don't have any friends that play video games heavily
in college i played with kids all the time, but now everyone's so busy with research / relationships (me included) that getting together to play smash just doesn't happen =/
we'll see how much time I have, i'm planning on buying some new ddr games for PS2 (old school yaya), plus guitar hero at some point, and new computer speakers -->hope poker goes well this semester haha

Finally got my copy. My roomy's PSN (which i'll be a playin on) is Satoraum. Been workin on my el Fuerte, been able to get my loop to 4 reps from 2. Took a while to adjust to the lag though, how are the games goin online? I'm probably not gonna go online until I can get 5 reps consistently... ugh that's probably gonna take 2 weeks.
worth it though to be able to yell EL FUERTE and FURAINGU GIGA BASUTAAAA in real life though. El Fuerte's SO FUCKING CRISPY!! Such a nice change of pace from Makoto and Yun.
