I'm googling this but I still don't know what it is. I can't delete it from a temp folder. (I thought temp folders never contained anything of use?) So is this just a regular dat file or is it le harmful.

Found this on the intrawebs, getting closer ![]() Edit: Solved! The Perflib subkey stores configuration data for the Windows Performance Library, which collects and organizes data for performance tools, such as System Monitor. + Show Spoiler [solution] + From all I can gather, the files can safely be ignored. You can use a program called CCleaner to help you clean up the files (it'll delete all the files in the temporary directories). It'll take care of all but the current one, as that one may be locked. Check and see if you have any performance monitoring going on. Right-Click on My Computer, select Manage and see if there's any active items under "Performance Logs and Alerts". Apparently, other monitoring programs can create this temporary file as well, such as disk monitoring software (i.e. Diskeeper).
