I look at breaky as a neccesary evil, I consider him to be significantly better than the other HoN casters out there (Excluding competitive players). But in general, there is a void in the western HoN/Dota world when it comes to casters, Tobiwan is nothing but loud, Synderen lacks proffesionalism and excitement - I for one would welcome some fresh talent in the scene. As far as people liking him, I just think that people recognize that he is the best we have to offer.

I agree, I don't know whether it's because my own knowledge of the game has improved or if breaky's casting is actually getting worse. I think he has a problem with trying to take all the criticism he get's to heart, resulting is awfully politically correct casts.

If you disagree please listen to any other caster and find yourself coming back to honcast. Tasteless I believe reached A and did decently vs koreans. Breaky is 1600. Nova_ for instance is a very good player who also does exceptional casts on occasion. Seriously, Breaky is like a C- or C level BW player max (and that's being very generous). The last "big" hon event I watched was dreamhack summer last year, and Tobi blew Breaky out of the water despite not even being a hon player (was a dota caster).

a more apt comparison would be breaky and husky, which is pretty accurate since the casting is just moderately entertaining play-by-plays with little game knowledge.

That's because there are no good HoN casters, but I would pick Nova if he was available and I seriously believe Tasteless could provide the same level of insight as breaky (Oh look stuff are dying)

Breaky's understanding of where the game is involves his looking at 3 things step 1 - check kill count, if there's a big difference, note it step 2 - check money/exp count, if there's a big difference, note it step 3 - check the tower count, do some mental math (gold difference +/- 1000 x tower difference) be ready to call it with one of the random things he says

Breaky does really good play by play and just needs the wise sage to interject their wisdom and it's fine. This he is the personality not the knowledge and i'm fairly sure he knows it doesn't tout himself to knowing everything, i mean fly freshpro etc they have the good insight or thing but are quite dull to listen to, That being said i don't watch competitive hon alot so eh. Why watch when i could play.
