Let's talk more concrete here. Testie doesn't really care about Dota as a competitive game, yet he rises above most others. He was also one of the better players in the later days of the non-Korean gaming scene. This because Testie has either a natural feel for games or is just a fast learner and goes through a steep learning process. A player like PewPewZlot who absolutely blew at Starcraft and does even worse at Dota while playing significant amounts is obviously a player whose limits are much lower and even prevent him from ever being close to good. He could in a very stimulating environment become decent, but he will never be above the others. PewPewZlot at the same time is a player who frequently uses the phrase 'I don't care about Dota, therefore I'm this bad'. After teaching the lowest high school classes in Holland it shows a lot of resemblance. These kids lose interest and pretend not to care and claim that as the sole reason as to why they are less capable. They do this, because it is less hurtful in an embarrassing way to have laziness as a reason rather than a limited capability. Being more limited than others in certain areas that require intellect is somehow crushing the ego. The conclusion is stop saying you don't care when somebody says you suck. Tell the person that says you suck to stfu and accept that you are a retard and theres nothing you can do about it, but that you will do his mommy if he stops nagging about it. fuck, that shit doesn't mean much so don't bitch at me if you get demoted/promoted i'm just trying to get better games so that only elite people can join some games so that people will actually try to fucking play better so they can get elite status ofc we'll have our normal games, but i don't want fucking nevake dropping and shit or someone noobing all our games up so that's why we should do elite+ only games once in a while this will be an ongoing process luv u nevake | ||

Squad leader is okay, but I'm clearly better than a Vice-Captain like Matsumoto. Ryugie is only captain level because he knows people, aka SJ, that and he can just go on SJ's comp and change himself. | ||

Tygga taicho ftw imo. @strafe: Oh for sure, you won't become the best, maybe not even among those that are listed in the top X lists. But you can become very upper tier. In starcraft terms, you could take PPZ, give him Kingdom's dedication to improvement, and shove him in a practice room filled with pros. After some time he'll be top kor amateur level for sure (in other words like the best foreigner). He might not win a starleague, but I'll be damned if a lot of people don't call his skill level fuxpro. All I was saying is that between team games like DotA and solo games like star, you have these in common -lots of PPZ's -lots of pros to train on The one thing lacking is the "Kingdom's dedication to improvement" part (no particular reason I picked Kingdom btw, he's just one of my favorite toss users). And my point was that in a team game like DotA, it's far easier to stay motivated and improve because you're (ideally) continually playing with people who are thinking just like you. The reason people plateau at low levels is not because they can't reach a higher level. It's because either their environment doesn't let them advance or they lack internal motivation to do so, and that motivation is easier to obtain in DotA than in star due to its team nature. Gist of it, just be willing to listen to me or any one with a good input, and honestly try. For those who know me, I'm super friendly, but I will not be a push over in games. I WILL tell you what items to get if you don't get the right ones, I WILL tell you what lanes to go to, I WILL tell you what your role is. If you don't like it, give me a reasonable excuse, if it's not a good one, then just leave. The point of this team is improvement, I'm 100% sure by the end of this summer, everyone will surpass pub, TDA, HLR1 and we'll enter a medium level league. Plus I want to see everyone stomp Testie. =o Unless testie joins up that is, then I'll just watch him EVEN MORE intently and point out everything wrong. | ||

People plataeu. They all plataeu at different levels. The vast majority plataeu at a fairly mid-level. (Hence why it's the middle). If they push themselves, they plataeu at very low end high level. Never reaching a respectable "professional" top tier level. | ||
