All blacks are NOT mainly from Tonga or Samoa, some players are from there, but usually grew and learned rugby in NZ.
Blacks are still favourites for me, SA showed they had a very good A-team but their bench isn't that impressive. Australia is always dangerous, it's hard to tell, i didn't see them play so much yet but from the reports, they look ok. But i'm not sure they have their incredible defense that did so well in 99 and 2003, they'll need it to beat the blacks.

OMG anyone watched SA vs TONGA? TONGA is soooo impressive! 30-25. Very nice game. Tonga is no fluke for sure watching this game.
England also GG. Beat Samoa relatively convincingly...

Concerning the little surprising country like Tonga , i must add that you have to know that most of the NZ team is made up with people who are born in those little pacific islans like TONGA or SAMOA. So thoses islands are trully a huge tank for the NZ team. I don't have the time to do that but I think you can esaily make a TOP 3 world team with all the players born in Tonga and/or Samoa.
This is so utterly retarded and not true.

Anyone watching Canada Japan now? 30 mins and Japan leading 5-0. It'd be interesting for them if they can win this although it probably won't matter whoever wins this.
[edit] Japan is defending very very well. Last minute tackle to prevent a try at stroke of half time. Fantastic stuff!

OMG really amazing game!
Canada 12-12 Japan. Last minute try and equalised. Think this was easily the most tense game for a neutral.

Can v Jpn is a wooden spoon play-off
7 out of the 30 NZ squad players are born in the Pacific Islands including Jerry Collins who has the biggest biceps in the world cup, 21" ! I think Samoa is traditionally the biggest provider of talent.

Argentina will win against Ireland, not so easy as you wrote here, but they will.
I guess that SA is already thinking in Argentina now. For what I saw, Ireland > Scotland or Italy, so 4er won´t be a problem for "los pumas".

Cheering for NZ, as always.

First of all, you should learn some manner. If you disagree with me, i can understand it, maybe i was excessive when i said "most of them" but "some" of the NZ team is from FIDJI, TONGA or SAMOA. Just look at these names :
Chris Masoe Joe Rokocoko Rodney So'oialo Isaia Toeava Jerry Collins Sione Lauaki Mils Muliaina Sitiveni Sivivatu
All from those pacific islands.

Some players from Pacific Island were born or grew in NZ too, yet they play for their country of origin or the country of their parents.
International rules being what they are, it's really easy to play for another country than yours, maybe that's a problem but France also has its "foreigners": De Villiers ( also Marsh and Liebenberg used to play for France). Maka from Tonga plays in Toulouse. He refused to play for Tonga for years because he wanted to play for France but he was never taken in the squad. All those players want to play for a team that is more recognized, with a better organization and simply with more money. That's a problem IRB will need to deal with if they really want to developp rugby though

About the WC: Argentina is really strong, i'm impressed. I'm really happy for them as they're too often forgotten from the top teams because they don't play any annual competition and i really like their players (Hernandez, Pichot and Corleto play in Paris and they're great, i enjoy seeing them play). They have a comfortable ro8 against Scotland who barely won against Italy, not the most interesting match here.
SA - Fidji: nice to see Fidji qualifying (i should have watch them against Wales, that game was awesome from reports), it will be hard against SA though. Problem for SA is that they had trouble against Tonga without their top players, they can't take the risk now that it's an elimination match. They're still the second favourite in this WC but i have the feeling they're on a way down since their big game against England.
England - Australia: last WC final, nice ! While Australia lost Larkham, England has Wilkinson back, tides are turning fast! But Australia is still a better team for me. It's closer than what i tought at first.
France - New Zealand: everyone in France wanted this, but only in final of course Well, France is playing much better since their initial loss, but blacks... In Cardiff ! They'll need a miracle like in 99, playing like there's no tomorrow. But honestly, i don't see this happening. I hope it's gonna be a good match, not one-sided!
Overall, this ro8 looks quite good

fiji lost little, a key player in their victory against wales, so i don't think they'll make much against SA unfortunately.
|
That is funny that France will probably play their final match in Wales, nice scheduling, should be a great game though.
Australia should beat England badly, same with Argentina Scotland.... the Wales game was probably the best one so far

Well... Im affraid that will be a lot of surprises.
Argentina is playing great, but they need to improve a lot to take a slot in semis. The backs weren´t so strong against ireland like they were the other games. Only Hernandez keep the score in our favor thanks to his drops. Felipe Contempomi needs to improve, Fowards the same... This will be the most interesting game in this round, because they are almost equal.
Australia will win easy against England. Im sure about this result. The same with All blacks against France.
Im not totally sure, but I hope and wish a great game from Fidji, they put too much love in every game, so, SA needs to play their best rugby to get the semis.
My bet: SA vs Pumas All Blacks vs Australia
yes... I know...

Ah, and please, A slot for Argentina in the Tri Nations NOW!
|
Argies > Scotland Aus > England SA > Fiji (by a lot) NZ > France (by a lot)
Wales lost me money vs Fiji. Not happy Jan!

NZ is raping another victim yet again, they really look pretty and I hope they can win it this time. Stop being the underperforming heavyweights pls!

wtf.... although I think the Aussie will win, please don't forget that England win rugby by kicking. As long as Wilko play, I think we have a chance.
NZ is a bit too good from what I have seen, but I really like Chabal (he looks like jesus to me) and I wish france the best of luck.
