a) How hard it is to get the Sakurasquad going after Ch. 8 compared to just continuing to bank on Super-Corrin (since they recruit at like level 5 when Corrin can be like level 13 at that point) b) Non-royal recruits from ch. 14 onward (the most hilariously unusable ones being Nyx in Ch. 15 and Odin in Ch. 17, but other units like Hinoka's retainers not really fairing much better) Most of the midgame units like Takumi/Camilla's groups, Hayato, Saizo's ninja hell group, etc. are actually in a decent place, they just get totally overshadowed by Super-Corrin and Camilla who overcentralize the route up till the princes (comparisons to Rutger/Miledy/Perceval in FE6 are apt). You can reach full deployment on usable units just fine midgame, it's just that about half your team is going to get obsoleted by recruiting royals. EDIT: Since it looks like we have 5 for the draft, we should figure out how we want to do the drafting. We can either just do it in this thread, or we can set up some time to all be on Discord and just knock out all the picks at once. | ||

My preference would be Discord though, mostly because having a lot of sequential 1-word posts is not ideal. Though at the same time not unprecedented because Mafia voting threads, lol. | ||

Purely on unit strength I probably have the weakest draft due to not drafting any of the royals, but as far as team balance goes, I should have all my bases covered. | ||

General plan is to start as +str - luk male dragon knight, and get shigure and ophelia paralogues ASAP. Odin will hopefully turn out to be a mini Xander and will be getting resources dumped into him. Also hoping avatar + Felicia is enough to make bolt axe sufficient as soon as I hit rank C and that I can actually hit wyvern lords cap of 24 mag. The other considerations are + mag or - skill but both of those look like they can considerably ruin early game on lunatic. | ||

Currently at Chapter 10 (freebie chapters were easy, Avatar handled them all solo since I didn't draft Kaze) Chapter 7 was a pain as always since I used it to level up Jakob (I didn't draft any chapter 7 characters). I reclassed Jakob to Paladin as a level 2 Butler and without a weapon. Traded him Silas weapon on turn 3 and then had to play really careful to get him up to level 7/8 by the end of the fight. Worked out though and got past the level. Chapter 8 was relatively straight forward. Jakob pair up with Arthur atm (til after chapter 10) and used him to clear the entire right/top side/boss of the map since I didn't draft Niles or Odin. I used Niles to clear out mages on left to ensure 3 villages though for the money. After this chapter Jakob is now on level with Avatar and I am not worried about him at all (D swords and D lances). Chapter 9 was interesting. Recruited Nyx but did not feed her much exp as she is going to be my pair up for Leo. I got her past 10 so I can promote her later for better pair up stats. Overall took this map slowly and just cleared through dividing exp for Avatar/Jakob and gave Azura kills if possible since she joined here. Chapter 10 I haven't started but will be interesting on how I want to handle it. I want to level Selena up as much as possible (but I saved Mozu paralogue for this as well, and I can probably give Azura some levels there too so she is a little sturdier). I will likely have to do what I did in my first playthrough and abuse everyone to keep the enemy clear because it gets dicey towards the end. So far I have decent setup for my team, but I know Chapters 11, 12, and 13 are going to be very tough because I reclassed my staff user at chapter 7 and don't get Felicia until after that. Hopefully my tanky units can handle it until then (they should with their stats, but Takumi is going to be quite an annoyance) | ||
