i know with my office building that no matter where you are in the building, it puts you right in teh center of the building. so, maybe something similar to your home.

Mobile GPS is weird indoors. On one of the districts where I hand out newspaper, the total measured distance can vary by as much as 3 kilometers

It's a little discouraging to run 3.5mi in a straight out and back and only log 2km :/

a) I'd like to kill two birds with one stone, I'm running regardless.
b) I run nowhere near the "speed limit" of the game
c) I should be able to earn more km in less time and be more efficient (I get that I could have just walked 2km over the same amount of time and got the same result in this case)

You're probably just making a joke but it's pretty lame it doesn't accurately measure jogging. It was literally a straight line out and back on a country road and I walked for a minute or two at the turn around point.

The game has improved its GPS tracking. Before you'd have been lucky to get 1.5km.

Still has a long way to go though. And because of the huge number of lost KM/s I have had I feel it's completely fine to abuse the shitty GPS signals at work and gain between 2 and 5 KM while standing still at work

I concur. The tracking still ain't great, but it's stepped up from the previous patch.

Tracking has been amazingly more effective for me. My "2km" runs every morning have turned into the real 6 km since I got the Plus and the update went through.

With so many strong water pokemon, I'm trying to figure out which grass pokemon are worth maxing out. Is it true that

Pretty much, but imo, only Exeggutor is worth leveling up. Even though it only has psychic quick attacks, it will still perform better because its moves have higher dps, and it has higher max cp.

Vaporeon is still a better counter to most of those Water pokemon than those grass pokemon you listed

Nah. Double Grass move Venusaur is more effective than Vaporeon.

Victreebel and Vileplume can punch above their weight against water as well though Vaporeon is probably better haha

Venusaur's HP ratio is 160, Vaporeon's is 260. Water gun will do marginally less damage than Vine Whip, but your Vaporeon will stay alive much longer. Solar beam will wreck, hydro pump still does more than respectable damage though.

Venusaur also has ~10 more attack stat and ~30 more def, but I believe the massive HP difference could still give Vaporeon the edge. Either way it will be quite close.

Both Exeggutor and Venusaur are certainly better against Water types than Vaporeon, but choosing the best one from V-trio Vileplume, Victreebel and Vaporeon could be a bit tricky. Generally speaking, I would say Vileplume > Vaporeon > Victreebel, but they all are one of the best anti-Water Pokémon, so it shouldn't matter much which one would you choose.

Anyway, SB Parasect is also better than Tangela.

When attacking anything with Solar Beam is pretty solid.

On attack the tier should be something like...

Venusaur (Vine Whip) = Exeggutor > Victreebell > Vileplume = Venusaur (Razor Leaf) > Vaporeon >>> Tangela & others.

All of the grass ones there (before Vaporeon) have enough HP & Defense to battle if you dodge special attacks, all have solar beam, and all have pretty decent stats. Vaporeon is not a great attacking pokemon if you compare it to others that have a similar DPS on their moves because Vaporeon has a lowish attack stat, Vaporeon only shines when you need the stamina to last the fight (which you shouldn't against any of the water pokemon) or need a water pokemon in general.

Venusaur has lower attack stats than some of the others, but makes up for it because of a better energy building quick attack (Vine Whip). Exeggutor is just all around strong though so I put it as about equal.

Defending is a different story, Exeggutor is best there followed probably Vaporeon. HP & CP are a lot more important on defense and Exeggutor's psychic quick attacks are a benefit here and the other grass type's poison 2nd type is a disadvantage. Defending no one is going to intentionally run a water pokemon into either Vaporeon or Exeggutor unless they have no choice and in that case both are probably going to do about the same. Exeggutor should be a little harder to counter because of the psychic quick attacks, but it also has less stamina.

I regularly train my Victreebell and Vileplume against a Vaporeon of ~800-1000 CP higher than them and they win pretty consistently so long as you dodge the special attacks (if you don't it's close-ish). It's way easier than doing the same with my vaporeon that's higher CP than the one I am training against (even before the training xp penalty).

So if you're going to max out one pokemon max out the Exeggutor because it's the most flexible. You can just use level 20+ of the other ones and still beat enemies while attacking without needing to max them out; you won't put them in a gym anyways.

I just evolved a 1679 Exeggutor (96% IV) but it has Confusion/Psychic Any use for this or should I just save up enough candies for another one and hope for Solar Beam?
