It's mod based on half life, sort like cs1.6 but it's a map control type of game. Does any one know about this game here? I am really big fun of the game, but I can never figure out why would people pick cs1.6 over dod? Dod has much more depth then cs and it requires more team work and it's more action packed because you will re spawn after a delay.

I used to play it a lot. Bad thing is no one takes flags in pubs or at least to somehow push when the time comes so usually maps are played on the same part of the map forever.

Weapon aiming, shooting and positioning are a lot more fun than CS to play.

People dont pick it because it requires a lot more to start. CS is very simple to start playing.

I started DoD in beta 3.1, after which it went official with 1.0. IMO beta 3.1 was better than the official versions in many ways, although graphically it was much rougher than 1.0+. HL mods are all about gameplay anyways these days though. 3.1 had a more atmospheric quality to the maps as well, and alot of great maps got dumped when it went official for some reason.

Anyway, DoD is the only FPS I ever played much, great game.

boring imo. I used to play 1.3 or whatever the old version was . I tried playing source recently and just couldn't find any fun in it.
