Excited to see where they take the franchise from here. Assuming we can all agree that Advent Children and FF7 are completely separate, the Compilation is still kinda stupid because we don’t know how we get to the 500 years later event from the end of the original game. I thought it was clear that the Planet won and humanity died at the end of the original game, but Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus says otherwise. It’s also further confusing because the 500 years later scene with Nanaki is in Advent Children so that’s still the ultimate destiny of the Planet, but we need to fill in the blanks. I havent played DoC, but i dont see any evidence pointing toward AC not being coherent with the vanilla timeline. | ||

How many parts there will be and what content they entail beyond that is anybody's guess. Best case scenario release date for Part 2 is Q4 2022. I greatly enjoyed the game. The level design has some unfortunate tendencies, aerial combat is a bit of a hassle, and there are some texture issues due to hardware/game engine at time, but those concerns pale in comparison to what it does well and exceptionally. If the project continues the same quality I would rate it better than the original, honestly. | ||

I know you posted this a month ago but: + Show Spoiler + I'm a strong believer in the theory that the events of the original FF7 have already occurred in this game, but only Aerith and Sephiroth are aware and remember them. There's a lot of dialogue in this game that seems to prove that theory true. So this ties in really well with that. Very happy for the free upgrade from PS4 to PS5 that they just announced! | ||
