Because you assumed something that was non-topical and completely unrelated. People are not paid based on capabilities all the time. It would be great if that was the only reason that people got paid an exuberant amount of money but frankly it is not. Given your number set the probability is that women get paid less than men. Any further speculation is self induced as there is far to many factors to simply surmise a mandate in a small sentence like you did.

I would agree. Those kind of people are asshates. I have yet to do that, but when/if I do feel free to walk away from the bar.

I'm going to ask that the stereotyping conversation end in this thread. This was supposed to about Tim Duncan and David Robinson playing Starcraft, create a new thread and leave this thread to its original purpose.
And just because I'm hypocritical and just can't help myself, I'm going to give a few quick thoughts on this off-topic discussion. Incontrol was being an ass at the beginning of this thread and likely brought all this grief upon himself by doing so. However, he does have the better and more logical arguments overall. Dronebabo hasn't done a very good job arguing in this thread, probably because Incontrol, while being unnecessarily abrasive, has been right for the most part and because he (dronebabo) is arguing more because of a personal dislike he has for Incontrol that stemmed from outside of this discussion. I'm not sure what Smurg is trying to accomplish in this thread as his posts have been pretty pointless and consisted mostly of groundless opinion on Americans, which I hope are intended to be jokes or he's just "ignorant".
Okay, that's that and let any continued discussion not concerning Duncan, Robinson and SC continue in another thread.

To be honest I met a lot of American people in my travels through Europe. Some were ignorant, arrogant, rude & all of that. But I'm sure we see these people in lots of demographics.
Of course my comments were unjustified as I cannot adjudicate properly because I simply have not met every American. For the most part, Americans at TL.net are fairly nice, funny & haven't really attacked me in a negative way.
I don't often participate in flame-wars and if I do, it's with silly quips that don't really prove much. I don't see the point in arguing small points like this.
And yes I agree with Cyric it's due to a personal dislike of Incontrol that babo continued his flaming (flameage). But that's a good enough reason if any.

I propose that incontrol be banned because he hates on asians wayyy too much. i'm pretty sure he's racist. whenever a topic that could be linked to asians comes up, incontrol is always there to make a deriding comment about asians. this is not acceptable and frankly it's very annoying. he tries sometimes to cover it up a bit and make it slightly less offensive by saying it is a "joke", but it's clear, at least to me, that he has a racist mind set. if incontrol is not going to be banned, then i want to ask incontrol to please cool it with the racist and/ or derogatory remarks that are obviously offensive and unpleasant to hear.
