The higher the number is, the more there are magic sites on the map. I think EA is 45 by default, MA 40 and LA 35. How much exactly that 40 is I don't know. Maybe it's some kind of a percentage.

Thanks ica, I was more curious about what the number itself meant, but 45 40 35 isn't a bad start there.

Adding Ipunatic's question is if anything like province type(such as boarder mountain/wasteland/or no modifier) or population add a weight to a province to more likely or less likely have magic sites? I know that in the skype chat we talked about this map we're playing for TL4 that the thrones provinces are being weighted for more sites so I know that. I also know that there is an option on the map editor to add favoring to provinces so I'm wondering if there are other things besides that? And I do know difference types of province have access to different types of sites so I'm not asking that.

Outside of terrain type, and throne sites being favored for "many sites", no. Terrain does adjust the weight for sites as normal (wastelands have a large number of sites, forests have more nature, etc.). Border mountains only increase resources in the province, to my knowledge. It may increase earth sites, not sure.

@ SCFox: Yes. It's the only province with 1 connection. Like caves usually are on RNG maps, I decided to keep that one because between it and the mountain pass (a true mountain province), it should be difficult to get to and strategic.

After some suggestions, I've done some income rebalancing on the map for all the starts.

Current version of the Liquidia 1.1 .map file. Don't need to change the .rgb file.

I don't think you need the .map file, but it couldn't hurt.

Also note, I changed the (42) start abit by removing 1 connection near it and 1 connection to the "known air site" forest, and compensated by giving nearby provinces larger incomes. Should give some other starts a better chance.
