Since the launch was yesterday, just thought I'd pop in to say that I just started playing this.

I used to play this a lot about a year and a half ago. Honestly I enjoyed it more than LoL or dota.
I'm a fan of the 3rd person view. It's a lot funner to cast spells and stuff over the shoulder.

I used to play this game competitively, until the whole jungle role was implemented. I didn't like the direction they were taking the game at that point. I think that before the introduction of junglers, smite was easily one of the best games I have ever played.

Might try it again now that it has launched, seems like they added lots of new gods and other miscellaneous updates.

wasant this called league of legends like 5 years ago ? but it turned out so bad that riot had to remake the game ? like all the stuff are very similara , forrest " buff " concept , recall in base , etc ?

This really is a good game. I could never get into other mobas, but I think hirez really succeeded in creating something that feels fun, intuitive (with a high skill ceiling due to aiming/dodging mechanics) and really builds on a genre that was getting a bit formulaic.

I haven't managed to convince any friends to play it yet though. :p If anyone wants to play some games and maybe teach me a thing or two, send me a friend request: I'm Greydient.

picked the game up a week ago. kinda ignored it after seeing early beta footage but my bro started playing it bit ago and was hyping it hard. well i downloaded it, played a day, bought the godpack (23$ and you get all+future gods) the next day and now have played a shitton over the last week.

it plays pretty much like a skillbased mmo mixed with lol/dota. if you have some expirience with them youll pick it up fast.

def worth checking out and while i dislike the "farm forever to unlock heroes/champions/gods or pay $$$" model the godpack has a fair price and gives you all the content outside of purely aesthetic stuff.

I still enjoy Smite, but I don't feel that it's growing too much on it's own merits. Part of it is riding the esports hype train, and specifically the MOBA one. It's a great game, don't get me wrong, and I'd love to see it become huge, but it still has a ways to go imo.
