Apparently my ps5 controller works, so I'll probably use that. My mouse is doing something funny lately and would make for a bad time when I play online.

The progress reset sounds a bit sketch but the rest sounds good, the wonky battle pass and the strangely complicated menus are my only complaints so far. It also took me a while to figure out how to setup my series X controller, but I'm getting close.

So I digged up a bit and apparently most pro players are using controllers atm. Since Halo was controller only for most of these pros it makes sense, and the aim assist is enough to make controller viable (some people even say that it makes it op compared to MnK).

I played 20 games so far (both crossplay and solo/controller queue) and the game is very good although I don't like some of the big maps / CTF (especially without comms, will have to use a mic soon...) and there are things to tweak ; since it's still officially a beta that's very promising.

Also I got back on Halo:MCC as a old Halo fan, and the super annoying thing was playing on bad ping/NA servers because the population was low. Now with Infinite we can play on Europe / no lag once again, that's dope

It makes sense to me to use a controller. I can only imagine using a controller for certain games and a lot of FPS for me is controller. Playing Infinite with some buddies from FF14 was pretty fun, some of the modes are...whatever. I hope they reduce the bullet sponge tho. Emptying clips per kill is annoying to me.

I am having a blast playing Multiplayer. This is an incredibly good sign because I am a campaign player. I don't play multiplayer at all. The campaign is looking very very promising, and it has recieved top marks from halotubers who are playing it now. I cannot wait for Dec 8th it's going to be a blast.
