Paul George is the best player in this series. "you need a superstar to win" is one of the biggest fallacies in basketball. The problem is most people only define superstar by scoring. Paul George is a balanced, very good player. Ok well first of all, if melo was actually playing like a superstar they would be winning. This is how he's usually been though, and people still consider him a superstar. He had 2 good playoffs in Denver where people thought he was turning a corner, even on defense, and he hasn't done it since. The funny thing is today's game was probably good enough to beat the Celtics.
Also, I think he's fantastic and helps the Knicks' offense more than anyone realizes, but Tyson Chandler was pretty bad today as well. He has to give Hibbert some competitive games.

Melo's a rich man's Monta Ellis. He's a good player who, unfortunately, thinks he's a great player. If his ego could allow it, he could be a very deadly second option on a contending team. He'll be eternally frustrating because you see him do things on the court that are just amazing but for as much as he does that, he'll look like a D-League chucker in gamers like today.
Knicks fans better not hold their breath because this team will be a perennial second round team as long as Melo is captaining the ship. Could you imagine them competing with Miami in a 7 game series? I couldn't. I doubt they'll even beat Indy after watching today's effort.

I don't think they'll beat Indy. Didn't think they would at the beginning of playoffs either. Indiana's just the better team, and plays like it. They also have a team better suited to playoff basketball.

And it certainly doesn't help that the media has a hard-on for everything he does. I guess that's just a side effect of playing in New York though.

Eh, seems like just another day for the Knicks though doesn't it?

That would be tasteless and witty. Worthy headline.

Kevin Durant is 4-for-4 attempting go-ahead field goals in the final 24 seconds of 4th quarter in last 2 playoffs; rest of NBA is 2-for-23.

Too bad his team isn't going to be within 1 enough times.

Paul George pretty good

The Knicks will never amount to anything with their current team, at least its fun to watch them fail. Rose is about as dissapointing also

I don't understand how the wings are considered neutral. They are 0 for X out there?
Either way it is a telling diagram.

Sample size is too small.

I don't think you get to complain after the game that sample size was too small. :p

I also think you have to note if they get fouled or get an assist with him defending. I felt like George trying to defend Anthony in the post led to a bunch of fouls for Anthony and required the Pacers to bring some help.
Also shit's over apparently http://tracking.si.com/2013/05/05/derrick-rose-return/
ran into the theory that Rose/Bulls organization only kept claiming he might return so that teams would worry about/have to prepare for him. If so, that's interesting.
