I wonder if he's just doing it b/c he knows that Steph is the gravy train to the next round and if he can earn some extra calls/attention from the refs moving forward, all the better. Phil used to do this all the time.

I'm sure that's at least part of the reason, if not the whole reason. However, it doesn't come off as well when he's being a total hypocrite after labeling himself as a tough old school type of player/coach, and calls out that type of physicality when he's made use of it himself not that long ago. I hope the refs call him on his BS and swallow their whistles in the next game.

He's just trying to protect Steph. He knows how important he is to the Dubs' success and the Nuggets clearly rattled him today.

It's the same with the whole Yao Ming drama from years back. Coaches are always trying to influence officiating.

But yeah, it's nothing compared to what's going down in Grizz v Clips.

So glad Grizz are up in this series heading home to close it out. Conley has really stepped up and played some amazing ball.

Plus it's always nice to see CP whining to the refs but being ignored.

During the first LAC-LAL game of the season, Blake went up for a lay up and Dwight put his arms out horizontally over him and there was no foul call. Griffin's head looked like it was about to explode and I just laughed.

I have to admit, a lot of times I watch games and can't note every intricate detail of their plays, but after watching the last couple of LAC games, I think this team has gotten as good as it's going to get under Del Negro. There doesn't seem to be any offensive gameplan at all. Yes, they have some nifty passes, but they don't have much conventional ball movement at all. Chris Paul has had some impressive personal performances, but I haven't seen his MVP-worthy game control (he had 4 assists tonight). I kept watching to see the Lil' Maestro take control of the game and it just never happened. Crawford just goes out there and plays 1 on 1. This team seems like it has plenty of talent, but, ask yourself, who on this team is going to be better next year. Frankly a coaching change seems like the simplest way to start. (Sorry for the lonely tear drops, Ace.)

I'm not stupid, a marauder just shot my brain.

So here's something to chew on. Of the top 10 players recently ranked by ESPN, only one player has never made it past the second round.

Do we need to talk about Chris?

I have to admit, as much as I would love to have a home town team to cheer for later in the playoffs there's something cathartic about watching the Clippers fall apart in the first round after so much was made about the "torch being passed" or the Clippers taking over Los Angeles.

To see them go out in the same round the Lakers went out in after everything that was made about this season would be a nice bit of schadenfreude.

I mean, Mark Jackson sounds ridiculous in the playoffs, but how can you fault him for that game? The rockets missed mulitple threes up 25+ pts, going for the record, before one of their players got a technical for taunting. That's when Jackson started the intentional fouls.

I don't fault him for his actions in that game, but if you claim afterwards you did it because you're an old school guy you better not complain about a few hard screens afterwards.

Skip Bayless may be onto something when he says Marc Gasol is the best big man in the game.

That post sounded like it came right off the top of an ESPN article by one of their "analysts."
