Bev may as well have gone for the ball at the end of the game and inured someone. Obviously he wasn't intentionally trying to injure westbrook, but it still feels like a cheap shot.
People are also fucking morons for thinking westbrook was holding KD back and this will net them a better chance at a championship. Watch people criticize KD for not taking 50 shot attempts per game. Only this was the playoffs, and it wasn't the end of the game, and the game ended up being close, and players have pulled shit like this before, like Andre Miller faking a timeout and getting an easy layup, so you can't say it wasn't a bball play, or that it was a cheap shot. But it wasn't a smart play, it was a retarded play by him. He just wildly went for the ball and if they hadn't called a timeout westbrook would've just probably drove to the basket uncontested. I think it was a case of a young, aggressive player overestimating their own ability/quickness. It was a hard steal to make and the angle was extremely poor. The only upside was that it was unexpected. So yes, it wasn't a smart play. But again, it's exactly the type of play Westbrook would try to make as well. OKC fans should be bummed, but they can't be that mad about it. They should be mad that Beverley got in Westbrook's head, even before the injury. If I were an OKC fan I wouldn't even be that worried. I would not be surprised if Westbrook is back for the conference finals which is really first time they might need him.
You definitely want him for the Clips or Grizz. There will be no easy ones in the second round.

Why the fuck are SAS-LAL and DEN-GSW starting at the same time? I understand needing to overlap games in round 1, but having them overlap 100% is just stupid. Why isn't one 9 or 9:30?

Spurs game will be over an hour before the DEN-GSW game.
Edit: Refs keeping this game close.

If Phil Jackson was coach, he would of worked the refs after the first game using the media. That is an underrated skill of his.
edit: clarity
edit2: nooo, I don't even get DEN-GSW on TV =(

At this point part of me just wants to go ahead and give Miami the title before more guys go down with serious injuries. Spoken like a true Lakers fan ! I'm a laker fan but I'm not delusional about my team's chances in the playoffs this year. Our hopes for a title as dim as they were ended when Kobe went down.
I mean come on, we're starting a 3rd string point guard.
Now with every other major contender suffering major injuries to star players other than Miami there's hardly even any real contest left to be decided. If Miami doesn't win the title now with all of their competition as banged up as they are it'd be the biggest choke in NBA history. They already were going to cruise to the finals this year but now it looks like there won't be a full roster of guys from any team in the west to meet them there.

OKC were never the toughest matchup for Miami anyway. I was dreading a repeat finals stomp, OKC just get shut down really hard by Miami. I also hope you're not listing Lakers among the major contenders, even healthy their defence/bench is woeful. I guess Boston, Chicago, OKC copped star injuries but there are other contenders still relatively healthy. I guess you consider none of the Knicks, Indiana, Grizz, Clippers and Spurs as 'major contenders'? Miami will still have at least two tough series vs healthy contenders to take the title.

Way too many turnovers from GSW...

Goudelock is putting in work, and Darius Morris isn't doing so bad either.

A lot of people are hesitant about the Spurs due to the way they closed out the season. I think the Heat, playing like they have been, will be able to beat the Knicks. Personally, I think the Pacers are the biggest threat to them.

Goudelock actually looks like a good player.

I love how Duncan always hesitates on his shot, almost as if to make the defender think they're in the clear and he's not going to shoot it anymore.

I like that Howard is playing hard through a lot of non-called fouls but man, Duncan just schooled him.

Lakers going thug mode now the sweep is looming.

OKC might not have been the toughest matchup for Miami when looking at their rosters, but they were definitely the favorite to get there and probably their toughest opponent. If OKC had one weakness verse Miami is that it probably wouldn't be able to score easily due to their offense being somewhat predictable but I wouldn't say 'shut down'. Why do some people (you in this case scarecrow but its not just you) think OKC didn't do so well during the regular season? In some advanced stats, OKC did better than MIA during this season and they were working Martin in plus playing more WC teams. No one is gonna look good compared to Heat though =p. They will have an advantage somewhere.

That was Anthony Randolph. And damn Klay is cold as ice here.
Edit: Well Wilson Chandler just had that bonehead offensive goaltend.
