Sacramento is going to continue to be terrible and will continue to have poor attendance, new arena or not. Meanwhile the rest of the owners make out because of that dirty revenue sharing bribe, and everyone else gets a free win out of it. I hope Sacramento continues to suck and I hope Stern and Silver take shit for it. It sucks that the rival consortium openly bribed the other owners and are just allowed to get away with it.

With new ownership I think things are already looking much better for them. The Maloofs just milked the team for every penny they gave no shit about winning. Also I seem to recall reading somewhere that their attendance was surprisingly good for the results they put up but I don't know the numbers I might be wrong.

In 2002, Sacramento were pretty much guaranteed a championship win with the East being so weak. If not for the huge well known referee scandal in the Western Conference, Sacramento would had been the 2002 champion.

After losing the Sonic, it's a bit ironic that Seattle wants to steal a team from another city. In 2002, Sacramento were pretty much guaranteed a championship win with the East being so weak. If not for the huge well known referee scandal in the Western Conference, Sacramento would had been the 2002 champion. The thing is that with this bid the Hansen group had plans for an arena approved, the league is setting an example and saying that local taxes should pay for an arena (as has been done by SAC and other places) to get a team and I don't think that's right. It's not stealing if they buy a team with the express purpose of relocating it. Unlike with SEA/OKC the Hansen group at least is not lying about what they want to do with the team, unlike Bennett and crew who lied and said that they were going to keep the team in Seattle. I think SAC is showing more effort than Seattle did but the league is also trying a lot harder to keep them there.

I hope Sacramento continues to suck and I hope Stern and Silver take shit for it. I've no doubt that we'll see a financial nightmare rising out of Sacramento these next few years. They've leveraged parking garage fees, empty lots, retail space, and for all we know, a bunch of Sacramento's finest lemonade stands, in addition to basically throwing money at every other owner in the NBA. Nothing against the people of Sacramento, but this deal was leveraged like a Mafia fire sale after one too many high stakes games of cards.
