Now you're just being pigheaded and stupid.
You should've taken my olive branch and backed off when you had the chance.

Basically, the espn writer is under the impression that the only reason the broncos won is that the patriots played uncharacteristically bad. They will have no chance at all against the steelers or the colts, will get smoked no matter who they play.
Personally I don't think u can hold the fact that hte Patriots played like complete garbage. They still won the game. How can u blame a team for taking advantage of a positive situation? I still think they match up pretty well against the colts and the steelers. Both defenses will have trouble stopping the bronco's run game, the broncos have solid linebackers and a defensive line that gets good penetration and pressure on the quarterback, plus a few good secondary members. Personally I think they broncos will beat the steelers (who won't make it anyways) and i'd give them maybe a 33-40% chance to beat the colts

denver CAUSED the turnovers... Bailey TOOK the interception... saurbraun CAUSED the fumble... brown CAUSED the fumble.... sorry these weren't pats mistakes like the pass bailey int'd that was a perfect throw....
and as for me changing my story... I still believe the hawks have no chance of making the superbowl but I would love to see them face denver or the panthers vs denver

Wow, the Steelers are really taking it to the Colts. And with their OFFENSE. 14-3 Steelers at start of 3rd Q.
I still think the Colts are going to win this, but the Steelers are playing the Colts like they should and deserve credit for that.
The Colts look seriously rusty. No surprise there given that they haven't played a meaningful game since like week 12. I know conventional wisdom dictates that once you've secured home field you should rest your starters. And politically it's always the right thing to do as a head coach (can you imagine the furor if one of your starters goes down for the rest of the year with an injury in a game of no consequence?). But, I think mentally it takes you out of that championship mind set and that's very hard to get back after such a long season.

damn big bens playing well haha I sure hope steelers do win :D
|
it's stillup in the air
if the steelers win it makes next week very interesting
but yea, no way the steelers have put this away, especially with manning
rothlisberger is fucking amazing

21-3 I think this one is over...Again questions must be raised about peytons play in the big games.
|
I think you have to blame the defense nearly as much at least so far. Big Ben has been finding holes in their zone coverage all day.
Polamalu is playing ridiculously well this entire playoffs. I didn't think the steelers had a chance in this game, I guess I was wrong, along with 76% of the rest of the voters
Ballsy call by manning to call off the punt team, had he failed on that.........steelers with the ball around the 40, game over
|
Come on colts you can do it -_-
|
18-21, colts are making one hell of a come back.
|
OMFG GO COLTS NICE FUMBLE STEELERS
|
ouch what a way to end the game Porter had 2 huge plays right at the end of the game, what was it, 2 sacks in 4 plays? Pretty sick performance by the steelers defense as a whole. Didn't allow the colts to establish the running game at ALL.
WOW good thing i didn't hit send yet. Unbelievable defense play by Bracket and harper. cannot believe that happened, what a way for bettis to have his first fumble of the year.
|
haha wow... the announcers always jinx the athletes! "he's the most accurate kicker in nfl history"

What an emotional rollercoaster. But the right team won. I picked the Colts to beat the Steelers "handily", but the Steelers came to play. And the Colts failed to make the big plays when they needed to. And it's not like they didn't have the opportunities either. Manning had his shots and he didn't get the job done.
Broncos win v Steelers next week.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, WHAT A GAY ENDNINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG, why didnt they run it on 3rd down???????

OMMMMMMMMMMMMMFG
i was watching this game in a room full of steeler fans, everyone was going out of their mind all game... everyone was jumping up and down screaming for every first down and sack etc
and i swear something was going to get broken when they reversed that INT
just unbelievable, what the fuck? the bad pass interference call, the 4th-and-inches and 4th-and-1, the HORRIBLE overturning of the interception, the crazy fumble on the goal line, roethlisberger saving their season with a TACKLE, the almost-INT at the end and then finally vanderjagt missing the FG, this has got to be one of the craziest playoff games ever

How did the most accurate field goal kicker in history just miss that.

The Steelers got as close as you can to beating god today.
I came in at the half, I admit it, but that's where most of the trauma came in today anyway. Thanks to the highlight reels I got a briefing on the game and basically Rothlisberger was picking the defense apart and the defense was tripping up manning something awful.
The third quarter was basically uneventful, Steelers went up another score, seemingly putting the game away.
Fourth quarter, good god, impossible to watch. The Colt started by scoring a quick touchdown into the endzone, putting the Colts at two scores. The Steelers then proceeded with a drive I simply call, the monster, sucking up about 8 minutes. Although there was a bit of luck involved and I think they underpassed it, the philosophy was basically right, in that they wanted to eat off time with their physical running game. At this point the Colts get it back, which is where, as I see it, the Steelers coaching staff totally fumbled from a coaching standpoint. After putting heavy pressure on Manning the whole game with their blitz defense, they go into SOFT ZONE, the defense the Colts are strongest against, and then, as if by a miracle the ball is INTERCEPTED.
And then, the call, after a large amount of time spent in the replay booth the ref comes out and rules that it was an incomplete pass because of the position of the CB's right knee because he fumbled, which is total crap anyway one looks at it. He has POSSESION before the fumble, I want the crack that ref was smoking, because it takes you places you could never go otherwise.
After the call the Colts sense that their time is now and quickly bomb it into the endzone, in no small part because of the Steelers's soft zone defense.
The Steelers get the ball back and go no where, they should have thrown the pass on 2nd down off a play action, but that wasn't the worst disaster yet.
The Colts get the ball back at the 20, the Steelers do not play around here, they know this is when they have to put the game away. And this time they DO NOT dissapoint. Despite a valiant effort from Manning blitzburg shows up with a vengance and puts the Colts back to the 2 yard line with a massive sack.
First and 10 and the 2 for the Steelers, barely over a minute. 21-18. If the Steelers get a touchdown here the game is over, they can't kneel because of the Colt's timeouts, no problem, give it to Bettis a couple times and run with it, a simple field goal kick means the Colts need a touchdown. Bettis gets the ball and FUMBLES IT! The Colt's defender scoops it up and runs all the way out to midfield before being tripped up by Rothlisberger and being finally taken down.
This is it, the Colt's time, Manning relentlessly passes it upfield, almost making it within 5 yards of the endzone once and into the endzone another time, but the Steelers are out for blood, putting the pressure on Manning as the cornerbacks stick with the recievers all over the field. At fourth down the colts are in position for a 45 yard field goal.
Vanderjagt is one of the best kickers in the league, he has never missed a kick at home, this kick is well within his range, if not the outter end of it. It's been said that being a kicker is easy, untill the game is on the line, and that it was at this very moment. Vanderjagt lines up, the ball is snapped, he runs up and kicks the ball, sending it flying..... to the right.
The Steelers win, after three kneels with less than 30 seconds to go the time finally runs out, and the players and coaches meet to acknowledge the great game they have just played.
The Steelers overcame bad officiating, bad coaching, and the best team in the NFL to win today, and they absolutely deserve it.
The Steelers came as close to beating god as you possibly can today.
