Yeah, once she starting going, it is like a short, little Japanese train coming for you.

So people, which player has appeared the strongest so far?

Even though there was only that one match so far, Haitani's Makoto was insane and Uryo's Sakura of course for me

ClakeyD's Ibuki looked exceptionally strong, and against a very high level of opposition.

BOOM, HEADSHOT.

It's like having the world's hardest hitting wasp buzzing around your head constantly. It doesn't help that I play Ibuki and Chun, and neither has a good get-off-me move.

I'm liking a 'solid' character (Daigo Ryu, Fuudo Fei, Bonchan Sagat etc.) to win again this year. We're seeing Akumas get bodied and Ibuki/Viper look shaky.

ClakeyD (and KillerKai and ShadyK, they all meld together to me for some reason) has always been good but I don't think he can contend for the title.

I think Eita just straight up choked hard, he wasn't impressive at all.

snafoo is east Canada player...they're strong in street fighter. They've knocked out top American players the last several tournaments up there.

Just as my own opinion on the Foreign players is that, if it were not for the fact that AE was relatively freshly released in the US last year for EVO, you'd have seen many more NA players doing well. I personally think there'll be at least 4 US representatives in top 8 for AE2012. There are simply so, so, so many good players capable of making runs that there aren't free rounds for any of them once you're out of your first pools.

ClakeyD has been in the LoL vortex. He's doing quite well considering how little he's played fighters lately.

Agreed. AE was in arcades for 7 months before it was relesed on consoles, where most US players could get regular access to it. Asian countries with a strong arcade scene were at an enormous competitive advantage last year. That doesn't exist this year, as everybody got the 2012 update at the same time.

Also: iPeru's Fuerte is just disgusting to watch. I always feel like I need a shower after watching him win.

Dirty dirty dirty.

Agreed, Marn in addition still was able to qualify out of his pools, and he's still got it for Marvel.

They also updated some of the Quarterfinal brackets, of the ones up Wolkrone v. Bonchan should be good. I'm just wondering, how are the byes distributed? Kazunoko getting a bye in the first round for Quarters is very much not fair. XD

Edit: Justin Wong v. Jozhear (one of the best Vega's) should be good too. BUT, the winner of that match faces Kazunoko...
