I've started the free trial and I can already tell this is going to be a problem for me. being able to just do multiple jobs on one character like this is incredible and nothing that I've seen in any other MMO. I don't think I'll be able to get super into it as I'm getting a lot of dx11 crash's for some reason but we'll see.

Depending on your system, you might need to update drivers. I know my AMD build was causing some issues and it was easy as updating the drivers for it. If that isn't the problem, then I would suggest a fresh install just to be certain.

Switching between jobs on one account is definitely something unique to FF14 I think. I can go from DPS to tank with a button and be ready for any raid/dungeon/fight. It's super helpful when you're in a pick up group to be able to fill those slots that need something. Once you get to the higher/harder raids/dungeons, you'll probably use 1-2 main jobs and then just use the rest for fun.

I'm struggling to cope with the new PvP honestly.
Admittedly I was just a random shitter, a casual daily frontline queue enjoyer before the 6.1 rework but I had things figured out.
My main job was machinist in PvP. Mobile, quick-firing and could potentially burst some unprepared pleb before this patch.
Now suddenly I enter PvP and all 3 of my hotbars are crossed out with like the ~20 skills I had on them. I check the new skills and... I suddenly only have 5 buttons to press now? How can that possibly be good for the game?
Not to mention the burst damage is gone and my basic attack is like firing a musket. 2.5s of charge time and I'm being slowed while "firing"

edit: not to mention they took away my +heavy and snares

there's less buttons but the PvP is wayy more fast paced. I've played a decent amount of MCH; you still have +heavy and +snare but it's on the Drill button's rotation

I have seen some MCH say they didn't like the changes either.. like for example bioblaster is kinda awkward. Still, MCH is great IMO. Drill guard pierce is very clutch, and your LB is a 50y range sniper rifle that is awesome

the best changes are how every class has a more realized class fantasy, especially the unique LBs. Also Crystalline Conflict is really fun. Dunno how much you've done but I highly recommend it

I have a feeling a lot of the hotbar changes are being done to bring in more casual players and people who have been or would be overwhelmed by the previous clutter. I rarely PvP but I never had a clue what the hell I was doing.

I definitely have to check out PVP.... I kinda completely wrote off PVP in this game.

And yeah, I can imagine its way easier to balance if you gut the abilities. It probably comes more like a game like Battlerite at that point. Plus there's always the problem games have where studios have problems balancing both PVP/PVE at the same time.

The new Mode is pretty fun. Its fast too so if your getting stomped you will be in your next match very quickly. I like what they did with it.

Sooner or later the devs need to address the inventory problem. They need to add a inventory solely for crafting items etc. or something, because it is becoming a major problem.

Becoming? It's been a major problem. I'm constantly tossing stuff because I don't have the space for it. And I'm not about to buy another retainer just to have them hold stuff. Giving us the glamor dresser increase will help a lot in that regard but yeah, they need to increase inventory or like you said, give us a separate place for crafting.

Yeah, the inventory and the glamour system are two of the biggest issues in the game right now..

That's something I can't wait for either. I'm so far behind on collecting all of the mounts and minions tho and I don't PVP so there's no way I'll get anything from there lol.
