Great performance by Hamilton to get the win today, but despite looking in a class of one this weekend McLaren again struggle with race pace. Lotus and Red Bull were clearly the fastest but the guys choosing 3 stops made a mistake. Alonso could and should have lost more points without that.
Now onto my favourite two races! Spa and Monza with skinny wings

I don't understand how anyone enjoys Monza, it's such a dull dull circuit. It's basically a nascar circuit for F1.

Well held Lewis, just the break they needed to try and close the gap. Interesting close of the season it will be if Lotus can keep that pace up, will make it 6 cars fighting it out every week which will be sick for the viewers.

Why on earth would Red Bull go for 3 stops? Their pace was not ~that~ good and there was very little clean air to be had and passing is a chore at hungary.

Very exciting race despite a lack of passing.

Back in the 90s, monza was sick. A big showing ground for how large your fuel tank is and how strong your engine is. Pirellis make monza boring.

A 3 stop strat is bad on that map (lol track) due Hungary has like 0 opportunities to pass anyone on, thus Hamilton was able to survive 29laps on his tyres with little chance of Kimi overtaking him, 2 stopping with passing via pit stops was the only way to win that race. Unless your car was so stupidly quicker than the one your trying to overtake (Alonso on Perez was it? that he took pretty easily)

Isn't Hungary a fairly short track? Why would they even need 3 stops, especially with so little chance to overtake?

The Red Bull's thought they would be quick enough to make it count, ie with a car ahead struggling with tyres not being as quick due to grip, it would only be inevitble that you get past them, but with the tyres not degrading that much it was a pretty comfertable and easy 2 stop race.

Red Bull were actually extremely fast but they were just held up all race long. Vettel was flying in free air on his last stint and Webber set a fastest lap early in the race which nobody beat for over twenty laps. Lotus had the fastest car though and with the DDRS coming in Spa and the possibility of implementing the Ferrari/McLaren/Red Bull exhaust system I think they will win quite a few GP this year. Imo if Alonso or Hamilton were driving the Lotus the title would be much like last year.

Don't think there that advanced arist xD I think they are quick, but sometimes their strats are bad, however they did drive pretty much a perfect race in Hungary but it might be a one off, they have been quick, but they have rarely got their strats perfect. Time will tell if they will win a race, but with the circuits coming up i don't think they will win anymore than one at most. Also, imagine if Kimi would of took himself and Grosjean out! They were literally wheel to wheel and 1 false move by either there and they are both going home which is dangerous if you want to win a race xD
I think it is Alonso's to lose, i can't see him being kept off the podeium much in the rest of the season, so would require like someone to win over half the races to knock him off top spot.

Nice to hear he still can't drive and he also wants to win the title for Williams....

And its nice to hear that Spa is getting a new 3 year contract it is one of the main tracks that should remain on the calendar, throw one of the Eastern asia/ Middle east away for the new us tracks

It will take more than that to get him black flag specialy after his Formula renault issue where he almost killed a marshal in monaco, he was perma banned but maldonado's goverment pushed against his ban got it overturned.

True. Like many have mentioned before, it will take someone being injured or worse before they act on him. Also I am loving the fact that Spa is here to stay for a few more rounds. That track is so good to watch a race on.
