Marussia driver Maria de Villota has been injured during testing at the Duxford circuit in Cambridgeshire. Although the full severity of the injury is not yet known, Sky Sports F1 sources have confirmed that De Villota required assistance from the emergency services in the wake of the crash and that Maria was unable to extract herself from the car in the wake of the crash. It's understood that the injuries are life-threatening. (updated) According to eye-witnesses, De Villota crashed into a stationary vehicle after locking up her rear-tyres and losing control of the Marussia whilst returning to the pits after completing a single installation lap. Also, theres a women testing driver in F1 and i didn't know 0.O madness. Hope she is ok. | ||

It's understood that the injuries are life-threatening. many reports saying diffrent things about how it happened, some saying she locked her rears, others saying the car accellerated into the truck and another saying the anti-stall kicked in... either way it sounds like a nasty crash | ||

She had returned to the pits and stoped it, but suddenly it shot off and accelerated she dodged people, and hit what is belived to hit a Trucks tail lift. Helmet too the brunt of the damage. This should not have happend on a airfield the FIA needs to bring back more testing on a track with pits that other veichles are no where near by. | ||
