What do you do if you're Kupchak/Buss? Who do go after--and give up--to make the Lakers contenders this year?
trade everyone except kobe
(serious)
everyone on the lakers besides kobe is pathetic. kobe should not be wasting his time playing 40 minutes a game playing for these d-leaguers.

So how can Lakers fans claim Bynum is the second best center in the league, then say that he's worthless? Or expect to trade a bunch of D-leaguers for superstars?
If they don't trick Orlando into trading Howard, Lakers fans are going to convert into Clippers fans in less than two years.

kobe is barely tradeable himself, doesn't he have like 28m on his last year? that's like half of the salary cap lol

As long as there are no excuses for the game next Sunday, I will be happy. Neither team plays on Saturday and hopefully one week will be enough time for Rose and Wade to get healthy enough to play. That will be the biggest game of the season so far imo.
I heard Rose might be out 3 weeks. Seems a bit long for a crazy man like him, but still the injury he has sidelined Antonio Gates like 4 + weeks (granted he is chronic).

Wrong on two examples.
First, the Lakers don't even NEED Dwight Howard as much as they need someone to run the point besides a second round Rookie and a 37 year old that was never built physically to run a conventional offense (all of Derek Fisher's 5 rings came from a Triangle offense) That's why even though trading for Dwight has been somethin that's been talked about for YEARS, when it came time to make an off season move, Kupchak went after Chris Paul. He knows what they need.
Second, This is Laker town. As much as the Clippers might be the new hot ticket in town they'll never replace the Lakers as the town's favorite team. Everyone knows that, especially while Kobe Bryant is a Laker.

They would still be terrible. I mean, D'Antoni doesn't have the players he needs right now for his system to work and then they would go and get Dwight?
Armageddon lol
|
dump 2 big contracts to open salary space so you try for a more competent bench sounds like a good idea
|
also magic v celtics bench, game pretty close
|
hmm if NY could pull this off, I don't see why they would not! It would be a godsend to them.
edit: not that I am saying it makes them a better team, but they have a better outlook going forward for sure imo
|
If they could land a solid PG for D'Antoni to run his systems better it could work out.
I'm not really sure who's available though. Maybe he could coax Nash away from PHX.
|
If they got Jameer Nelson in the deal it would definitely be interesting assuming he even played at normal levels.
|
Hmm, if I'm reading correctly, Nash will be an UFA at the end of this year.
He'd be my #1 target if I did the Howard deal (actually I lie, probably Deron as #1 if they could afford him).
But it seems moot to me. I can't seethe Knicks would trading Amare and Chandler. At least this year.

Pistons scored a solid 33 points at the half vs OKC.

56 points.

kyle lowry just got a triple double against the wolves. he's probably the most underrated point guard in the league followed closely by mike conley.
|
Wow that magic game was bad. The magic only made 16 field goals. I believe that's an NBA record low. It was pitiful to watch them get outplayed by a crappy aging Celtic team.
|
i thought my vision was going when i saw 56 points god not even the raptors can do that bad
