Why did you invest 12$? The pass is about half the price. I will think about getting it. Depends on how high my motivation grows for playing CS in the next few weeks.
The pass is $6, but there are two additional mission packs for $3 each. Each mission pack allows you to complete an additional mission each week which should increase your case/item gain significantly.
Are people finding that the passes are paying for themselves pretty quickly? That seems to be the story in this thread but then again, small sample size...
Also, Ten Cent Pistol is a song by The Black Keys. I chuckled.

Quickly? Only if you're very lucky. If you play a reasonable amount of time you will profit over the course of the operation.
this operation gives 2 guaranteed cases off the bat for doing missions so unless you bought the pass and sold your cases within the first hour, you will be losing money on the operation. the cases are like 80 cents US at the moment.

You also get one case drop per week like every other operation. However, there are missions that do not award cases and their expected value is likely significantly less than a case (I got a common worth one cent from the mission I completed).
The operation is scheduled to last fifteen weeks (ends February 10). That means you only need to make eighty cents per week assuming you purchase the pass and both operations ($12). Cases are currently selling for about seventy-five cents each (after market taxes). However, with the additional mission packs you get a case plus four mission rewards a week. Case prices will almost certainly fall over the course of the operation, but it should be trivial to make profit on this operation, even if it is less than past operations.

Today is the first day of Operation Vanguard. The numbers aren't going to stay that high.

but to be serious, you have to give credit for valve for tweaking stuff as the community demands and bringing in new maps through operations. the only problem i see right now are the cz and the jumping scout and i'm more than adamant valve are doing internal testing for those two weapons.
