Being really passionate about a game is one thing but consistently looking down upon other games is just pretentious. It makes you sound like a hipster who "liked stuff before it was cool." I had fun playing CS 1.3-1.6 back in the day. I had fun playing CS: Source back in the day. Games like COD -insert version here- or Battlefield Bad Company 1/2 and Battlefield 3 have shown, however, that gaming nowadays is capable of hell of a lot more than just terrorists vs counter-terrorist on the umpteenth makeover of de_dust or de_dust2. The fact that these maps have been remade at all, shows, in my opinion at least, how desperate the devs are, as if they realize there's no way they can ever compete against giants like COD and Battlefield. I'm not even sure if it would be worth it to release CS:GO as a fully priced retail game. There's a whole generation of gamers out there who've never even heard of Counter-Strike; gamers who grew up on the Xbox360 and PS3 playing Halo, Killzone, Call of Duty or Battlefield. Of course there are still PC gamers, but unless you're as masterful at hyping your games like Blizzard, no way you're going to get a lot of money out of yet another military shooter -a genre that is getting as saturated as WW2 games around 2005. Even Blizzard is developing a console version of Diablo 3 because they realized a lot of money can be found there. I don't even see a reason for CS:GO to exist. Do we really need three different versions of the same game, especially when the first two versions are still insanely popular? There's already a lot of people complaining that each new COD is basically extremely expensive DLC to the previous version, but Valve seem to take this a step further by just releasing the same game with slightly better graphics, even though its two predecessors still have at least 80,000 people playing at any given time during the day. Just my 2 cents. (Then again, if I had it my way, I'd cancel every single Valve project and force everyone to work on Half Life 3).

It's not gonna happen. 90% of the CS:GO playerbase is gonna consist of casual players who don't give a damn about esports. It happened with dota2. Just saying. Also give me a beta key, I will give you a heart if you do,like this ♥.

chobo, you can't play with other people yet unless they have their own server set up (only listen servers atm, so player hosting.) :/ When you connect through the game finder, it gives you the ip in console but I haven't been able to connect to that ip (official game servers) by using "connect x.x.x.x" so far.
