VP can brag that they won a major before though.

Only team they beat was Vox Eminor, which is easily a less skilled team. They lost to C9 in OT, and got slaughtered by dignitas. Before that they weren't any more impressive either as summed up by this http://www.hltv.org/news/12844-hltvorg-july-2014-world-ranking I don't know, I feel like in their recent games they were doing way better than before. Not saying they were back as a top team, but they seem to be able to give good teams a run for their money. So I would have thought they would stick with the same lineup a bit longer, but what do I know They sure gave dignitas a run for their money with that 1 round they got in Cologne

Unfortunately, not the VP we used to know and love. ;;

RIP AWP. They killed the scope so hard.

Maybe that'll keep people from buying it so my MM games can drop from four AWPs per team to a much more reasonable three.
|
Can't they just put a damn static scope like in the previous games so that we get glorious AWPing back >.<

Oh god, that's one of the more annoying things that can happen in MM, especially if it happens on terrorist side.

Wait they nerfed the awp by changing scope or something? That seems random.

That seems random. The scope is a lot slower and fuzzier when you move, even when you walk. And your blind spot is huge when you move, too. It makes it really, really hard to get the drop on another awp.

So, at my current rank I win almost all exhanges as long as I dont spray. I am faster and have better aim. But I panic and/or spray a lot of times and then I die like 80% of the time.
Do you guys have any tips on how to not panicking? I try to work on it a lot, really forcing myself to remain calm, but it still happens too much.

After tons of games, you'll be used to situations that might have made you panic before. Or maybe be more specific on what you mean by panicking.

Since i have the similar issue, i'll chime in.
Basically, in situations that "matter" (aka MM, any serious game) i'll tense up, quite literally my hand and arm go rigid since i'm under pressure. This leads to shitty aim and epic fails.
Its either that or i'll quite literally panic and flick too wildly, fire too soon and "rush" myself.
Both of these situations are frequent for me and both originate from a psychological point of view, i'm making myself do these things due to pressure when if i just relaxed and fired like i do 50% of the time (or constantly in warmup/casual/DM) i would perform a lot better.
Its quite literally the thought process of "fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck" while i'm trying to kill someone in a situation that matters.
A friend / teammate is constantly shouting at me for spam firing people who don't even know i'm there, it isn't clean like it could be when i could just take the extra 0.5s to line up a shot. I panic the moment i see someone and rush myself.
(this actually resulted in an epic fail the other day where i sprayed an entire clip down on someone who came out of Nuke A squeaky, ran out of ammo and died when i quite literally could have fell behind him and knifed for ez kill.)
It just makes me a really shitty player sometimes and if i start tilting i'll do this every gunfight and miss kills i really shouldn't, my aim is pretty bad but this makes it 3x worse. I've never experienced it in other FPS' games either since i've never been under pressure to succeed like in CS:GO before.

I'm actually super proud of my game sense though, i've played with nobody who i thought had better game sense then myself, 9 times out of 10 if i think i know where somebody is i'm right and if i'm spectating they usually don't, but i end up being quiet anyway because what if im wrong

Oh, great. The AWP went to shit when I finally felt like I was improving with it. Meanwhile, the goddamn CZ is unchanged.
Back to Mag-7/AK/M4A1-S every game.

I rarely awp'd anyway, preferring to flame people who awp on the other team

Well the #1 thread on reddit is already about a static scope. We can dream!

I'm new to CS:GO, but played tons of CS 1.6. Game is fine, I just need some time. But - what the hell is wrong with people in matchmaking? I think I played 4 mm matches and lost all of them because of people leaving. Some left in 1st round, some just went on teamkill rampage and got kicked etc. Doesn't matter if we were winning/losing, people just love to be assholes. Do I need to find some friends to get through this start? Does it get better in higher ranks? Or am I just unlucky? I've seen that players I played with were far worse than me, so I don't want to get even lower.

I dont mind the change with the AWP that much. sure it feels weird/unusual, but thats part of a change. So far from what I've seen, it doesnt really affect my AWPing. I still shred everything that dares to go mid on mirage without smoking window, no matter how crazy they jump/send a bait first/try to flash. Guess its mostly whining because people have to slightly adjust.
EDIT: from my experience, if you are experienced in 1.6, you definitly want to play with friends. if you play with randoms, you will get ranked to low where you then have to play with people that have the gamesense of a brick, never look at their radar/how many enemys are even alive, singlebuy in a eco, tk&grief with flashbangs, smoke b cata as t's while there clearly was a rush for b prepared etc. etc. . through your 1.6 experience, you mostly got some map awareness, reaction time and aiming and just have to adapt to the changes in maps etc.. If you play with randoms, it just takes forever to reach a league that properly displays your skill. It sucks if you lose matches on a regular basis while having over 20 points more than the best player of the enemy team/your own team.
Also, is it just me, or did the trick that makes smoke transparent through settings with nvidia inspector become rapidly more popular? guess some asshole had to make a youtubevid about it or something. atm I cant hold b on dust2 from plateau without getting a 1click through the smoke most of the times.
