Yeah, it would be best if you get some friends to MM with you, otherwise it's just "kurwa, cyka, blyat" festival. It gets better at higher ranks though, but not if you're in usa ![]()

I had one game where everybody on the team had disconnected at one point or another. Teamkill? I have no idea. It rarely happens deliberately for me. Mostly assholes shooting at people or people shooting at assholes, but they usually leave them with some health.

It basically means that the AWP is reduced to a 100% static defensive weapon, which sucks balls given that most sick and fun AWP plays involve peeking corners and being mobile :/ Maybe its just that I practicly dont need a crosshair with the awp, and therefor didnt realized that, but I had the feeling its easier now to peek more aggressive. Gonna investigate as soon as GO doesnt give me the stupid "cys16" - error that prevents me from joining most games. Today I can even barely play casual... fix your goddamn system valve.

Basically, in situations that "matter" (aka MM, any serious game) i'll tense up, quite literally my hand and arm go rigid since i'm under pressure. This leads to shitty aim and epic fails. Its either that or i'll quite literally panic and flick too wildly, fire too soon and "rush" myself. Both of these situations are frequent for me and both originate from a psychological point of view, i'm making myself do these things due to pressure when if i just relaxed and fired like i do 50% of the time (or constantly in warmup/casual/DM) i would perform a lot better. Its quite literally the thought process of "fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck" while i'm trying to kill someone in a situation that matters. A friend / teammate is constantly shouting at me for spam firing people who don't even know i'm there, it isn't clean like it could be when i could just take the extra 0.5s to line up a shot. I panic the moment i see someone and rush myself. (this actually resulted in an epic fail the other day where i sprayed an entire clip down on someone who came out of Nuke A squeaky, ran out of ammo and died when i quite literally could have fell behind him and knifed for ez kill.) It just makes me a really shitty player sometimes and if i start tilting i'll do this every gunfight and miss kills i really shouldn't, my aim is pretty bad but this makes it 3x worse. I've never experienced it in other FPS' games either since i've never been under pressure to succeed like in CS:GO before. -- I'm actually super proud of my game sense though, i've played with nobody who i thought had better game sense then myself, 9 times out of 10 if i think i know where somebody is i'm right and if i'm spectating they usually don't, but i end up being quiet anyway because what if im wrong ![]() just remember that it's match making, not a $250k grand final match. It doesn't actually matter.

It is just a really bad habit and was wondering if anyone have any tricks or tips. E.g. when I somehow developed a habit of crouching too much I unbinded my crouch button and I stopped doing that. Now I have developed a habit of spraying too much for whatever reason and looking for a way to stop that (other than trying to not do it all the time, but habits die hard )

Unless you are obsessively crouch walking, I don't really see a case where losing the advantages of being able to crouch would be worth it especially on the CT side where a lot of positions are more easily held by crouching. It's good practice if you want to stop overcrouching. At lower ranks, crouching is not the best idea because people will generally aim for the body instead of the head so if you crouch you're essentially crouching into a headshot. And what positions are you talking about that are more easily held by crouching? Just curious, since I'm thinking of all the most popular positions on some of the most popular maps (Dust2, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke) and I can't think of a lot of spots that are really substantially easier to hold by crouching at least in pro play. There should be a few I'm missing though.

Dust 2: A barrels, B Big box Mirage: B van barrel, A stairs Inferno: Banana car, A pit, B dark spot These are all i can think of off the top of my head, definitely more for each map, i could include 2-4 more each already just adding spots used for hiding and not holding angles. I'd say there were at least 10 spots on each of those maps lol.

But I panic and/or spray a lot of times and then I die like 80% of the time. Do you guys have any tips on how to not panicking? I try to work on it a lot, really forcing myself to remain calm, but it still happens too much. Practice will definitely help. It's not something that will go away immediately once you "figure it out," you have to work on habituating to the game. Warming up with a DM game or something can be good; maybe even put a lot of focus into not firing more than a certain number of bullets at a time (for example, 10 bullets, then wait for recoil to reset). You can even play offline with no bots and just practice firing in bursts while controlling the spray (shoot the wall, minimize the spread of the bullet holes). The more familiar you become with it, the more you'll remember to do it when you're in a tense situation. That and practice breathing with your diaphragm. It helps.

Because I would crouch as the first thing at every "unexpected" encounter with an enemy. (And then start spraying often also) Now I don't do that anymore and just sidestep/stutterstep so I am much harder to hit etc.. Basic stuff.

Those were the ones I thought of for the most part (and a few more like back of plat on Dust2), but I mean....I still don't think it's the most substantial thing if you just unbind crouch and try to work without it for a while. Sure you might not be able to hold certain angles, but it's not that bad. I'd say it's better to get rid of bad annoying habits. I should unbind crouch. >__>

Then there are spots where you can crouch so only your head is shown or your visible body is reduced. Like a spot at cat where there is masonry jutting out. Or spots where you crouch so you are hidden. At Dust 2 B site: crouching at plateau backbox at 2 locations at barrels at the double stack of crates the two locations where the car is on the boxes on the immediate right of tunnel. At A site nearly everywhere: At ramp at A corner in the middle everywhere to hide on top of crate behind barrels. Smoke mid then crouch walk to avoid awp shots to cross mid. Pit. Boxes near B doors. Crouching at catwalk, from tunnel and vice versa. This is just Dust2. Not to mention that you also can't get to certain places or get to them easier by crouch jumping or crouching. Dust2: Window boxes, plateau, A ramp, XBox. Inferno: Balcony, Underpass, logs, sandbags, haystack, window, T side balcony, graveyard. Mirage: Vent, window, catwalk to window, window to ladder Nuke: Silo, maybe the railings Then there are any locations round a corner so you crouch so you don't die to a headshot. If you disabled crouch you have greatly reduced versatality. You can't even move to certain areas properly. I've literally never seen a person compulsively crouch before they shoot, but it isn't that bad habit to have, it isn't really that bad compared to the utter inability to crouch. Just keep calm and don't crouch.

I'm just saying as a habit in lower ranked games, it's just not as good of an idea to crouch people you're crouching into other people's crosshairs. I just don't think it's a bad idea to just unbind your crouch for a while and get into the habit of shooting standing up. It's really not that gamebreaking.

It's gamebreaking to be unable to crouch out of sight, to be unable to get into vents or into mexican, and to be unable to jump through certain widows, or to hide behind certain boxes. I understand the exercise but it narrows down your possibilities.

I'm not sure who said it, but if I was like a low rank (and I am), I wouldn't mind doing it for a lot of games in deathmatch and maybe even a few in MM if I think me overcrouching is really hurting me, whether it's throwing my crosshair off or I just keep getting headshoted.
