Multiple reasons:
1) You were queuing for a long time without a good match, it gave you that 2) The other team was a 5 stack, and they were queuing for a long time, and then just gave them a match with you guys 3) You or the other team queued specifically uncommon maps, which results in the wait time trade-off as before 4) The time you were queuing was off-peak. The player pool in AU is relatively small.
All-in-all, not that uncommon. I've played about 200+ games on MM and it's a matter of, that's the best it could give you in a reasonable time for you or them.

That's because those 2 kids were really bad until they started cheating or getting carried by one. They probably had a ton of pugs played then one weekend shot up to global elite. I remember playing them the entire week I was grinding to global elite.

Like I said, they got carried by a spinbotter to global elite. Those two guys are terrible without him which is why they didn't do good against a team of players 4+ ranks below them.
