csgo's decent, still kinda new to it though I've played 1.6 back in the days along with numerous other games so it was quite "easy" to pick it up.
Only got kicked once for like absolutely no reason on inferno, cleared the A site, the rest was mid street towards A, then they just decided to kick me.. Still don't know why since I was topfragging and wasn't really playing on my own, tried to help others out and whatnot, was about 12 frags ahead of the 2nd guy on the scoreboard so.. Don't really see what the reason could've been bar them being awkward for doing so. Awk well, doesn't bother me at all actually, you get those kind of people in every community.
Global Elite atm (rifles, can't stand the awp or anything with a "zoom" function on any cs game haha).

Gonna probably get flamed, but I don't understand everyone complaining about votekicking on GlobalOffensive/here. There are plenty of options to find people to play with.
People always claim to get kicked by a 4stack, etc, but that's also remedied by just finding people your rank/friends to play with. People claiming to get kicked for no reason, I don't really believe it. Especially in Counter-Strike people have a tendency to think they're being helpful but in reality they're just being abrasive or condescending with their comms. (ie: Don't do this / it's terrible.) I'm speaking from experience on the last point just because I went through a major asshole phase during my teenage years in counter-strike and I didn't realize how bad it was until playing now and looking at all these youngbloods doing and thinking the same way I did.
*Shrug!*
Also, Glean, I like how you casually say you're relatively new and have gotten Global Elite with ease, with no complaint of hackers above Super Eagle rank. Too strong!

I played 1.6 extensively competitively and all my game style that pertained to defensive, tactical play turned into "can I aim better/fast than him?". It was literally exactly the same thing as Brood War Terran vs. Early SC2 Terran. (For me at least, I guess! I had to completely relearn my style, becoming much more confident/aggressive and less reactionary/defensive.)

Leagues?
Just curious, I haven't seen many other players on here from seasons 8-14 of CAL.

You get hackers in every single game you play, whether it's cod, cs, sc, quake,.. Complaining about it won't really change anything. Let's say I get hackers every.. 4 to 6 games, sometimes more, sometimes less.. If you're playing with decent people or against decent people, the hacker(s) will get kicked relatively fast, if not you just have to deal with it. Btw, relatively new to csgo, not to games in general seeing I've been playing since the late 90's - early 2000's (sof2 & quake 3 were my first fps games I played).

Sadly most of the cheaters you play are queue'd with people that they are boosting to global elite so they won't kick them. I have yet to see a cheater get kicked which is sad. Honestly I really don't see the point of matchmaking when you're global elite. Matchmaking is a good idea to ease the transition from pubbing to competitive play but at a certain point it becomes useless because you're playing cheaters once every 3-4 games.

I highly recommend altPUG (Link) and leetway (Link) for an alternative matchmaking system. It's free, 128 tick, low var (so better servers than Valve matchmaking), has more anti-cheat, and are getting more and more popular (the only issue with them before).
Even if you have issues, the services are very receptive to feedback. Our Australian/New Zealand group (Link) have gotten a few things sorted out with leetway in a matter of days, with more changes coming in the next update.

altPug is all like 4 stars though. It's probably great at that level, but it's kind of useless for me. I usually just end up rolling people and it's not really that fun.

Or people can queue with me!
I'm not sure what people are talking about in terms of time played and skill. I also don't really see a correlation between 1.6 and GO, the only thing I feel is the same is you point at someone and shoot and game sense (not dying one at a time, how to use nades to advantage). Everything else was slightly changed and doesn't necessarily carry over. Nades bounce differently, map abuse spots are different for nades and wallbanging, guns are different. But if you were good at shooting people in the face in 1.6 by 1 clicking, you can do that in GO.
I have 300 hours on GO and I am still shit at point and clicking

Was that a typo? You sound like you just got csgo then say your rank is the highest rank you can get haha wth.

Aim carries over, I played a ton of DM style maps in 1.6 over the years, and while im shit at actual strategy I can dunk people like no ones business with pretty much any gun.

I think I got one of those cases (gold case?) at the end of my last game....guess I'll just try to trade it for some cool skins seeing as my account won't let me sell stuff? Sigh

I have 2 old esports cases that I can't sell.
Fuck... Should have sold them 2 days ago after I got them. =(
