Here we go, the race is starting in 40 minutes and it will last for 3 hours! Some of the top-contenders are streaming for our pleasure:

Yay, got the email just now, played a bit, it seems pretty good, a bit too zoomed in (or a bad camera angle) What stat increases bow damage, because str says melee physical damage and dexterity doesn't say anything about ranged physical damage, nor did the damage change after I got 20 dex from my levelups.

Dex gives evasion and accuracy.
Most bonus damage comes from passive skills and magic mods.
Btw Strength gives only like 1% per 5 Str but most Str characters have up to 80% hit chance while dex characters can easily have 90+ and most of the time 95%

I think there is a passive skill that turns str into range damage, you should look into it

Well yesterday was my first attempt in the ladder race, needless to say I got wrecked. I made level 12 with a few people and I got froze and stuck in the Cavern of Woe and had to TP back and told them to TP for me to join up. Well I go in my portal half HP I get the loading screen and then boom back at login with the message "That character was to much for you to handle(admit it)" or something of that sort.

I ended up watching IMDissapoint and damn was his build awesome. 2h Duelist just cleaving everything with for the most part a white 2h Axe. I didn't even think staying on a white item would be possible in cruel. But then again most of the builds I do are destined to die from the start but I think its more fun that way ^^. Lost my 35 Bowrauder yesterday and now starting a Chaos Innoc Lighting Templar, and after that I'ma make a Dagger crit witch.

So how far did everyone else make it?

xavra41 yes the skill is called "Iron Grip" its right around the Rauder and Templar starting point with Blood magic, Necromantic, Conduit, and the Rarity item nodes.

Would anyone like to party up on PoE? Get a teamspeak or skype group together. Could even setup fun challenges to do, I personally find the HC race to be amazingly fun. Also is there anyway someone could start updating the OP? It needs some work and the last update was 08/11.

I tried my luck yesterday for my first time at the ladder race aswell and made it to level 24,5 with a ranger and realized lots of room for improvement ;-) But still had funduring the ladder rush ^^
