Prior to the 1.0.0 patch it did not work like this. and dota would be terrible if units had accuracy. Huh. Does it work retroactively? Or would it have been better to not take Iron Reflexes until much later? Also, how expensive is a Bringer of Rain? Is there any realistic chance that I'll get my hands on one ever? Well I guess that might change in the future depending on what new lategame content GGG adds. At least BoR isn't drop restricted to high level maps like Shavronne's and something else--Kaom's Heart?--are.

If you do not have resolute technique (always hit, but never crit) but you have iron reflexes, dex isn't worthless since you will need some for accuracy so its fine.
If you have resolute and you have iron reflexes, dex is literally worthless to you, get what you need for gear/gem requirements but nothing more.
Buddy bought a bringer a few days ago for 8 exalts i think so 8-10 exalts i would say for BoR.

Shavronnes is Occultist Vestments so afaik it can drop in 62 zones and above? Or did they change that?
Bringer is a 67 base (Nightmare Bascinet) so thats harder to find (although it may be less rare iunno).

Given that I have a legacy shav's and they (well worse versions of them) now only drop very rarely in high level maps I might be even richer than I already thought I was. It's obviously good for me, but makes me feel kinda bad for all the players who never got a legacy unique.
But then again, who cares about HC/Default.

I dropped one of the first shavrrones after the item was introduced and sold it on hardcore for 28 exalt. :D

Don't really want to invest too much into gear until closer to 60 either.. =( Hmm, I am only mid Act 3 cruel and I got almost 2000 life and I didn't really go out of my way to pickup life passives and I don't have great items.
I only have like 2-3 life nodes cuz I'm playing witch and there aren't as many of those +str/+life nodes as there used to be towards shadow (at least I think there used to be more). Copying this summoner build at the moment and I've been pretty greedy about just going straight into ES nodes and skipping life by abusing public parties for hard zones/bosses. Oh well, I'll see how it goes.
Could probably use some +life on gear at the moment to tide me over but I'll probably get that after docks or library running up to 56-57 before tackling piety/dom.

Anyone know the prices of 70-71 maps on nemesis? I have a few I want to try to sell: bog, villa, strand, colonnade, dry woods, temple.

What do you mean retroactively? The increased evasion rating from DEX is removed when you skill the node. I wouldn't put a point into iron reflexes until you can pick up unwavering stance as well personally, but it shouldn't be too detrimental to your character either way.
Stacking DEX should be an inferior use of skillpoints regardless; get enough to use your gems/gear and stop. If you're not using Resolute Techniques then most of your accuracy is probably going to come from %acc nodes and gear rather than acc from DEX nodes. If you are using RT then more DEX than your gems require is indeed pointless.
Also invited everyone who posted since yesterday. If I missed you somehow post your character name again please.

Math of Exile is the TL Guild?

Having been out of the loop for a while, what changes have shifted the balance of power towards melee? What's so strong about it now?

Yes.

Spectral Throw I guess, but that is really only pseudo melee kinda like ground slam (although much more range). Double strike is used for single target so that is true melee though. The addition of the melee splash and multistrike support gems could be pointed out as the tipping point, but I'd be hesitant to just list out a bunch of melee buffs and say that melee is stronger now. Having a six melee party for your mapping team would be pretty dreadful.

Melee is only good if you're playing solo; ranged is still king in terms of parties. A 6 party of ranged characters can just spam the living shit out of the screen so hard it's unbelievable.

As a pure summoner will I be ok in parties or will I end up desyncing everyone?
I've found I can't really solo maps past a certain point (I can get up to about level 70/71) as after that all I seem to get is lower level map drops. So I think I need to start playing in parties, but I'm not sure if I'll need to roll a new character or not.

Map uniques data by Chris
those ilvl78 requirements~_~
edit: and a 250ms cooldown on CoDT, wonder if it's universal cd or applies to each instance of the gem separately

My summoner did fine in onslaught league. I dont remember getting any complaints. Just avoid using some lag heavy spectres like the docks dog or solaris fire thingy.

I imagine that is to prevent the instagib with lightning thorns/reflect. Pretty hilarious interaction.

I started playing hardcore immediately after 1.0 was released. My last 2 characters ripped in Sceptre of God in normal and to Normal Dominus, still kinda frustrated about the Dominus rip. I had 2k hp doing a high life marauder build that was just tearing through everything I encountered. First two phases were cake, barely had to pot versus either of them...and just didn't know what was happening while my HP was dropping like 500 per second from bleeding stacks on his last phase, I tried to portal out but was dead before I could click the portal.
Guess I should've taken a lesson from my nethack days and looked at spoilers first >.>

I see people use the terms "c/o" and "b/o" frequently. What do they mean?
