Act bosses give you access to the next act. Since there isn't another act after merciless act 3 there is no reward. You do get an achievement for it though.

He might have a specific map drop like GGG added to Piety when they changed the levels of the areas.

Seems legit i guess.
Although a white map would probably be more valuable simply due to the ease of chiseling it LOL. Depending on the level of course (if its a 66-68 for killing dominus that would be retarded)

Can piety only drop 66 maps? I havent seen any 67+ maps drop from her in all of the runs I've done.

Yes; GGG stated that map progression should only happen in maps when they added the special drop to Piety's drop table. I'm guessing Dominus also only drops 66s for the same reason.
Patch 0.10.8 Non-map areas cannot drop Maps with a base level higher than 66.

You just use a scouring on it since a scouring+alch is cheaper than sixteen chisels.

How accurate is the prices at http://poespreadsheet.blogspot.se/? Is it useful as a baseline guide for trading stuff as I basically have no clue what anything is worth? I understand it's not going to be perfectly spot on, but is it at least roughly accurate?

i think i hate Chamber of Sins lvl 3 the most. Fucking necro's and spark everywhere, so dangerous.

I've been using the same weapon for like 20 levels on my lvl 70-ish Templar. I just haven't dropped a better one sadly.

Gotta say the difficulty progression going from Normal/Cruel Sceptre of God to Cruel/Merciless Act 1 is absolutely illogical. Sceptre of God monsters seem to have 2x the health of any monster you encounter in Act 1 of the next respective difficulty.
So it's just pure semantics.
"Yeah, technically it's a higher difficulty, but actually everything is way easier."
Just blows my mind.

yea scepter of god in insane, i just ran through it in all 3 difficulties
|
Pretty noob question, but I think I'm leveling too slowly. This is really the first time I've leveled through Cruel and it just seems like I could go faster. I'm level 42 and in level 39 Cavern of Wrath at the moment. I'm trying my hardest to just walk to the exit and only kill what gets in my way. Is this ok and what zones should I prioritize in Act II? Thanks.

And of course all of those zombies just stand there and let you blow them up. xD

Just blows my mind. The first level of Hard Difficulty SC2 campaign is easier than the last level of Normal Difficulty SC2 campaign. The first zone of KH2 Proud Difficulty is easier than the last boss of KH2 Normal Difficulty. The first zone of Nightmare Diablo 3 is easier than the last boss of Normal Diablo 3. The first mission of Call of Duty 4 on Veteran is easier than the last mission of Call of Duty Hardened. The first mission of Halo on Legendary is easier than the last mission of Halo on Heroic.
etc
Same for Mass Effect and Neverwinter Nights.

A bunch of false analogies and a Diablo 3 reference (which I think, is a pile of s.) aren't going to prove me wrong.
"The first mission of the game on hard is easier than the last mission of the game on normal." is not tantamount to saying "this zone which directly preceeds this other zone in difficulty and progression is just arbitrarily harder.".
This game has linear progression, comparing that with difficulty levels in other games (which are not directly progressive in the same sense) and even taking that to the extreme of comparing the last and first mission of two distinct difficulties is nothing but intellectual dishonesty or a serious misunderstanding of my argument on your part. (I'm being generous here by the way, there is a third possibility of course, but just mentioning that possibility would probably get me banned.)
If you can safely make it through the Sceptre of God, you can basically fly through Act1 Cruel with absolute ease. This is not progressive difficulty, it is regressive difficulty. Given that the whole concept of the game revolves around the idea of your character getting progressively stronger (item progression, character progression and even gem progression), this simply makes no sense at all.

For racing the diffculty of Dominus and the new stuff must really suck, good I'm mostly interested in sub 3 hour races. I agree with Slix the new stuff on Act3 shouldn't be harder than everything until like almost Act3 of the next difficulty.

You could be the Watson to my Holmes.

This may be a dumb question but this doesn't seem to make any sense to me.
As a Marauder, on the far left of the skill tree towards the bottom left, there is a skill called Blood Magic. It removes cost of Mana, and converts it to cost of Life so you don't have mana issues anymore, just have to watch ur life etc.
Why to the left of Blood Magic is there a Mana oriented skill that says 30% less mana spent? After you just removed all Mana cost? wtf?
|
So I've been thinking of getting into this again. I played for a while back a year or so ago (I think). Is this game still all about health, or is armor worth investing in on the skill tree?
